I have read many times about LSD, and the fact that it can cause flashbacks for up to years later... I have been taking LSD on and off for the last 15 years and never once have i had the hint of a flashback... I think this could just be a myth.. Has anyone on here ever experienced a flashback from LSD?? Or is it just a myth someone has made up...?

I've never really had flashbacks, I get some strange mental effects while falling asleep though. I jolt awake, and my body trembles a bit, but I'm pretty sure that's completely unrelated.

Flashbacks can come from any drug all it really is is recalling events from the trip, and when doing so your brain can pick up stimuli from that memory (body highs, mental highs)
just like how scents came bring back memories years ago, it happens to me not so often but it does happens.
Or how like certain songs, albums, can make you recall certain times of your life. For example: when i used to play WoW alot i would listen to Cream non-stop and Mac Dre....now whenever i play any songs from them i automatically "go back" to the memories of being in front of a computer training in the night elf city
-and sometimes that can be extended out to a larger degree and remind me of all the thoughts, emotions, and situations i was in at that time....almost as if i was re-living it again - through thoughts.

Flashbacks are not caused from LSD or any physcedelic drugs that is DEA bullshit intended to scare people and think they will be fucked up for life from these drugs. Also LSD and most other psychedelics are metabolized and leave are bodies within hours of ingesting. People that say it stores in your neck and if you crack it you trip are lieing. Flashbacks are caused by strong emtional and physcological experiences which could be a drug trip or you being raped. I lol'd at the DEA's website saying LSD causes intense flashbacks that will impair the rest of you life such bs. A flashback, or involuntary recurrent memory, is a psychological phenomenon in which an individual has a sudden, usually powerful, re-experiencing of a past experience or elements of a past experience. These experiences can be happy, sad, exciting, or any other emotion one can consider.[1] The term is used particularly when the memory is recalled involuntarily, and/or when it is so intense that the person "relives" the experience, unable to fully recognize it as memory and not something that is happening in "real time".[2]

Yeah most people in the world who have experienced flashbacks have never even touched psychedelic drugs.
Things like getting raped, or mugged, or having your house burn down, or even things like an intense wedding and cause flashbacks. It's a phenomenon completely outside of drugs.

Remembering embarrassing moments - flashbacks
Remembering the memories we instinctively/unknowingly push away - flashbacks as well
flashbacks are moments recalling other significant moments

Flashbacks are believed to be related to PTSD. They were more common in the 60s when people were dosed with enormous amounts of LSD without their knowledge, or against their will. Horrifying trips in which you don't even know you're on a drug can plausibly cause PTSD, which can cause flashbacks.

Wouldn't really call it a "flashback", but I did develop a sort of phobia on LSD.. Here's the story: Friend and I are tripping on campus one weekend. Dosed somewhere around 2 in the afternoon on two hits of some AMAZING Ohm blotter... So clean.. anyway.. Started tripping the fuck just before sunset.. so we leave our dorms and go out to explore campus... All is amazing and well at first.. I get zoned into this big beautiful tree and cant stop exploring it with my eyes. I am walking around it observing it from all different angles. I find a nice sweet spot and stand there for a minute or so just staring. Im feeling tingles all through my body. I'm thinking OMG THIS IS CRAZY my skin feels so tingly! This tree is giving off some crazy vibes! The tingling sensations start to turn into stinging sensations. I look down at my body and I am COVERED in fire ants. I had them in my hair and on my neck and everything.. man I FLIPPED out. Probably the worst experience of my life. I take off screaming at the top of my lungs, stripping down to my boxers in public, taking off my shoes, just basically having to beat myself to get the things off of me. As you probably know, they sort of hold onto you once they have a nice grip. My friend is laughing his ass off the whole time. I then relate to him how much I want to die at that moment and how much I hate the world and how much I hate fire ants. That was probably the most intense hatred/sadness/distress I have ever felt in my life. Luckily, after I vented and smoked a bowl, the rest of the trip went extremely well other than the fact that I was itching horribly the entire time afterward.. Still had the greatest day of my life. I was way too spun to even notice the bites after a while. Anyway.. Onto the long-term damage: Now if i even SEE ants, I can feel that tingling sensation coming over my body and I start to sort of panic and freak out.
People should be aware that, just because they are experienced trippers and have never really had problems on psychedelics before, doesn't make them immune to traumatic experiences that can have long-lasting negative effects on them.

I agree, the intensity of sensory input that psychedelics offer probably makes it far easier to get PTSD from a negative sensation you experienced while tripping.
