It's hard sometimes to remember that there are real people behind all the text on this forum.
I have been trying to respond to this post for days, but my browser decided that being a cunt was a full time job, and I kept getting error messages.
Anyway, what I was going to say was, that it is weird. The day before I was having very similar thoughts. I also wondered that if one of the regular posters did die, if we would find out...or if they might just drop off the radar so to speak.
The more time I spend here, the more curious I am about what certain posters look like, who they actually are.

How so?

Because people do not want to be identified in fear of being incriminated?

I think lots of non-drug forums render members an equal amount of anonymity as this one, like for example mental illness forums, communist forums, pedophile forums, and many others; IME, most online forums are about topics that people aren't usually comfortable dicussing publicly.

The first two, yes; the second one is just an uneducated guess; IME, the topic of most online forums are not topics that people are comfortable dicussing publicly, they're outlets for discussing taboo subjects.

Anyway, I didn't mean opposed to other forums involving incriminating activity, just that being associated with drugs IS incriminating, and a reason to maintain anonymity at this particular website.
Admittedly I hadn't thought of the mental illness aspect

Yeah, the mentally ill want nothing less than to be exposed to the public for the demented freaks they truly are.
Love your new avatar, BTW, it's really trippy.

Well...not so much in my own experience.

Well this raises interesting questions about stigma and visibility of mental illness in the community...But this is waaaaayyyy off topic now. WAY OFF.

Yeah, you're right...
Mr. Mushrooms's posts were always entertaining to me, whether or not I agreed with them, and even though he put me on ignore during the last several months of his life, I appreciated him and the short-lived friendship we had going on via before he started hating me; may his "soul" rest in peace.

What's wrong with being a freak, as long as you are accepted by the group?

Hmm was it the one I gave the inspiration about 'icons'. He was very courageous and engaged in his ways, but I admit that I never fully understood where he was pointing at. Some seemed to know, he seemed to be a good soul. Let him live in our memories, gracias Mr Mushrooms. R.I.P.

he had a crazy sense of humour and that is what I liked about him. always entertaining, even when I disagreed with his arguments. he seemed like the kind of guy that would be fun company IRL. maybe it was both of our craziness clashing.. all of my friends have been nuts in some way or another.

Not imo, he was too volatile when he thought someone didn't agree with him. I heard some personal stories about the guy that convinced me never to be around him in person. I believe those stories because of the way he reacted to me in PM when I disagreed with him. Finally he put me on ignore.
