Anyway, on to something that actually matters. The news around here really isn't covering much of the japan crisis.
lol no it isn't an opinion wtf? is transcriptase an opinion too?
i suppose it is, if your in to that kind of stuff. I for one, do not believe in RNA. It's popular belief now adays that it doesn't exist.

Dude enough of this RNA crap. RNA is just a hydroxylated artefact of DNA metabolism i.e. its a damaged form of DNA. Update your sources damnit

What do you guys think of this photo, supposedly taken by an employee and leaked to the blogs. It's supposedly showing the cooling pool of spent fuel rods in Reactor 4 burning and releasing radioactive plumes. This would go against the official story coming out of Japan.

The green thing is supposed to be a crane which normally is used to move the spent fuel rods. The pool is underneath that where the steam/smoke is coming out. Here is the link.
I really hope this is not the case, I don't know how many spent fuel rods are in this particular cooling pool but there are over 600,000 in total in the entire plant according to TEPCO.
Thoughts?

no, it just gets very very hot.
water cools it and contains the radiation.

The casings on the spent rods burn away and the radioactive material inside burns into the atmosphere, surrounding environment, and wherever else the wind carries it.

ok, does anyone know how they measure how much radiation is in the air coming towards the US. airplanes with geiger counters? sattellites? if you can see things in the dark due to infra red radiation, can't you remotely measure how much plutonium radiation is happening?

I far as I know you can only measure it locally.
Nuclear fallout.
