ok, so i'm going a little big with my gh and turning my walk in into one. so far it's looking pretty good, however where would one aquire a fancy zippered entrance? considering looking for a small martha and cutting the back out and attaching it to the larger assembly i have......also what's the coolmist/air purifier requirement for an area 3x's the size of a 4ft martha? i know i could make it smaller but i like having room to actually move. any advice is appreciated, much love.
oh and one more thing.... when ppl say 1/4 ratio of spawn/sub.... do they count there 2/3 full jars as a whole jar or how does that factor in lol....

I used a tarp to make my door. Staple velcro to the wall on one side and top and bottom. Sew the other part of the velcro on the tarp. Permanatly fasten the tarp on the one side....I had also thought about buying a tent large enough to cover the opening and cutting it apart. Using the zipper door from that.
I'm not sure exactly about your humidifier. Whatever it takes to keep the humidity up? As far as the ratio it goes by equall parts. Say if the 1 is a qaurt then the 4 is 4 quarts.

I think that we occasionally call them "nominal quarts".
When someone says that they used "2 quarts" then it is understood that this means they dumped the contents of two quarts jars into the mix. These jars were likely 1/2-2/3 full.
Others may do differently, but that is what I have found.
(and the other poster is right in that ratios are unaffected by size ;0)

Awesome guys Ty for the quick responses. It's a 4x9 area not sure a tent would work. Did you use any special thread to prevent moisture absorbture? Just one of those big blue tarps I'm guessing....my project begins today. Thus far I have quiet abit in this ordeal so I don't mind spending a lil more to ensure its done well. Also can I test oh with pool strips until my soil reader arrives?

well velcro was a smashing success great advice....although i used about 300 staples to hold it down lol!!!. my hygro/thermo reads high for the humidity in the gh with just a sonicmist, hopefully i have enough fae. it only reads 20-90 so i assume it's 90+ i have a couple tubs in it that was already goin of pf cakes. i also have the hose piped in upwards about 6 feet to prevent too much moisture from entering. i'll have to take pics sometime, i'm proud of my gh.

Hah yeah it took a few staples to get mine to stay as well. I also had to staple it to the tarp....a sewing machine would have been ideal. I learned I know not a single person that owns one. Glad it is all working out for ya. Pics would be cool to see

seam

timers and power strip, velcro'd to wall

modified ultrasonic

fogged over gh, with slightly too much input going for a new timer in abit.

3 shelve system rubbermaid stuff, seems really strong and was quiet easy to assemble.

i have 2 6500k 4ft bulbs above the gh aswell, but that is an awkward angle to take a picture at.
