when i was little i would try to picture what my life was before being born and i would see little dots of light moving through space real vividly, i would get this weird otherworldy feeling that gave me the chills
i remember the first time i saw starwars where there going into hyperdrive i thought in my head ey that kinda what i would see only the stars would move at a slower pace
i got my first computer and was checking out the screensavers and there it was again starfield
i saw the elephant man for the first time recently and what do you know stars moving when he was born and stars moving at the end when he dies
kinda got me thinking if that could have been the departure of the soul traveling through space that people other than myself had seen and used for inspiration

When I was younger I would try to imagine what it would be like if I were dead, or what is was like before I was born. All I could imagine was an infinite black space, a huge void.
But I could never really comprehend it, I think I got hung up on there no longer being awareness or consciousness. Possibly the start of my disbelief in a single god. Because if he created all this, then what created him, and what was it like before he existed?
Ah the musings of a child.

Me too. I used to close my eyes and imagine not existing and that's all there was.

thats funny i remember thinking that too, a teacher had asked the class what was sleeping like and i had told her it was something like being dead for a little while, that everything was like black, never thought it was black just the easiest way to explain the infinite void

You as a child were smarter than most adults to be asking questions like that

I definitely have a vivid memory of those same thoughts. I was standing in the dark and contemplated "what it would be like if I didn't exist." I still remember that experience to this day.

I would press real hard on my eyelids to watch the colors. I was fascinated on how images will get burnt to your retina for a sec.. And now I need glasses

Definitely did this too as a wee laddie... I remember after a certain point I would always see jumping tigers before they dissolved into a multicolored chaos.
