A few shots from the last month -

It's cold, wet and windy, but it doesn't stop me from the occasional tromp through the woods. Here's some shots of what I've found over the last few weeks.
#1 - My Hunting Partner

#2 - Pseudoplectania melaena

#3 - Fomitopsis pinicola

#4 - Unknown. Perhaps Pholiota sp?

#5 - Guepiniopsis alpina

#6 - Stereum hirsutum

#7 - Tephrocybe palustris

#8 - (Proud of this find!) Schenella simplex

#9 - Mycena sp. (Growing from root ball of sword fern)

#10 - Pseudohydnum gelatinosum

#11 - Tried doing this one on a scanner - Trametes versicolor

Corrections or confirmations welcome.

Got myself one of those "low-to-the-ground" hunting partners too. They are good at spotting little things - sometimes...
Thanks for sharing!

The scan came out ok. It might be a good way to make plant herbariums but without the folders full of plant material. I'll give it a go and see
Your hunting partner has an infectious smile and is awful cute, just like those Mycena.

Yeah, the DoF is really really shallow, so I'm not sure it would be useful for anything that is 3D. I've seen some scanners with a larger DoF, but mine isn't one of them.

Cool finds Shock, thanks for sharing! You are quite saavy with your IDs - I had never heard of a few of those you found; namely Shenella simplex, which I can't personally find any info on...

Well thanks for the complements, but I have to admit I had help with the Shenella one, I was lost...

nice pics SV
-------------------- Having lived through an existence close to nature, one accepts the small and simple things as most important in life. Sun, wind, rain and snow. The sounds birds make, smells of fresh wild flowers. Love of all kinds, from friends and family, thy self and our neighbors. Beautiful sunrises to the darkest clouds dancing above in the sky. To forgive, learn, share and express. This is the only thing a man such as myself can ask for. What comes as the result is nothing short of the core of human existence, to truly live free in body and mind.

Nice shots Shock!
Did #4 (Pholoita) have a viscid cap? It seems to look like that in your photo.
I've been trying to ID a similar looking mushroom found by my friend in Australia. I guess it would be hand to know as she crosses them sometimes. Pic:

P.S. If any of you are ever in my neck of the woods, shoot me a PM. I wouldn't mind going out and hunting and shooting some pics with some of ya.
P.P.S. No, I won't show you how to find "boomers"

Nice finds ShockValue and great photos (I nominated #5) @psylosymon: congrats on the upcoming hunting partner.
@Lord Mayo: maybe an Oudemansiella sp. don't know which one though (one of the O. mucida relatives).
