My first FC (under $10)

I made my first FC via RR's SGFC tek (PF Tek pt. 3), drilling 1/4" holes every 2 inches, on all 6 dies of a $5 52qt clear tub. The tub is 23" x 15 3/4" x 11 2/3", I fastened a cheap $4 thermometer/hygrometer combo from Menards to the back wall with picture wire.
Cheap and easy!

Let me know what you think!
Any improvement ideas are appreciated!

I realized the hygrometer/thermometer is barely visible, sorry
I'm doing the best I can with cell phone pictures until my digi-cam charger arrives.

thank ya! I'm new, and from what I researched, this is the easiest set-up without dialing in a cool-mist humidifier. I have a tropic-aire and an aquarium pump, but I'd like my first grow to be simple.

you dont need the air pump, and the humidifier, run it in the room the fruiting chamber is it, dont pump it into your FC
with 4-5 inches of perlite on bottom all you need to do is mist then fan 3-5 times a day, doesn't get anymore simpler then that.

That's the plan! I haven't even completed my first grow, and I must say this is the most addicting hobby I've ever come across

Get rid of the heating pad and your humidity will be fine and your perlite will remain damp for weeks. If you need heat, run a small space heater in the room.
To the original poster, having a hygrometer against the edges will make it read lower than the actual humidity because of the fresh air coming in through the holes. You'll think you have a humidity problem when you won't. RR

And you are wondering why your humidity is too low...
If humidity in your area is <20% then just get a humidifier for the room w/the fruiting chamber. Get rid of the heating pad, "they have no place in mycology" to quote RR.

The hygrometer is set about 3/4" from the wall, using a bottle cap as a buffer.
