phxBoomer said: for someone trying to understamd psychosis or insanity first hand, shrooms amd lsd offer something similar.
We were talking about this in my psychology lecture, binging on crystal meth without sleeping for 3 days straight is a lot more similar to psychosis than mushrooms or acid.

@Jordainio Trust me, I know what you mean with the bull in the USA. But I'm talking about theory in general, not the USA. The USA would be the last place to support holistic healing.
@ pyl91 Thanks. Great stuff. I know the thread is a little messy, but I don't mind so long as there's good information shared.
@ psychedelico I'd have to disagree with that. Based on my experience, a dose of meth < not sleeping for 3-5 days with no drugs < Benadryl plus caffeine pills. I've never taken more than a single dose of meth at a time. I've only tried speed a handful of times too.
@ R2-D2 Don't know what you mean by that. Did you mean something like HemiSync?

My psychiatrist and I discuss psychedelics all the time. He told me, the biggest problem they see at the hospital with drug TOXICITY is datura. He is a big reader of Erowid. And he suggested if I want to study psychedelics (take them) to do it as research under the guidance of a doctor.

Hah...probably some but I'd bet a lot either get tested or are in direct opposition to psychotropics only because they push them as a means of dirty business! They know better than to wreck their PHDs and careers with drug use! LOL

I can almost guarantee you that there are psychologists and psychiatrists who have experimented with said hallucinogens, but would never publicly state such an offense to their very discipline. I do agree that the completely open-minded psychologist/psychiatrist would have no qualms with trying hallucinogens such as DMT, LSD, or Datura Stramonium. Datura might even help them attain a wider scope of understanding delirium, thus being able to reach out to their patients on a more personal level. The doctor who sincerely cares about his patient will do anything in his or her power to find some sort of ground to resonate with his or her patient in order to fully diagnose and subsequently cure. What came to my mind whilst typing this was the question of whether Albert Hofmann would have advocated the usage of LSD if he had never accidentally taken it.
