sad though

After sampling salvia, initially, I was as perplexed and bewildered by the results as most. It appeals to me in that it supports my perception that this world is a personal contrivance. Typically I reflect on my experience and have to muster up some nerve and really focus on what to get out of it before giving it another try....usually 6-12 months. I have only offered it to one friend. He adores it, as (in light doses) it gives him giggle fits for a few minutes. My last experience was on a rainy night in the woods around a bonfire. I had a responsible sitter who outweighed me by 100 pounds, so I felt pretty relaxed with the event. While I was "returning" and being berated by some female for "going back to that silly place" I stood up and slowly walked in circles for a moment. My friends stated I resembled a doe eyed infant. Moments later, a drunk buddy tripped on a log by the fire and went in face first.
I'll take salvia over 3rd degree burns any day.
I say multiple factors lead to this unfortunate event. I also believe gravity's not just a good idea, it's a law. This young man messed with the law and lost. Tragic.

sadly........
But it is not real smart to smoke salvia on an 15 floor balcony.

I have learned not to believe everything you read in the papers. I'm not going to jump to the conclusion salvia was the cause of the guy jumping, or that he had smoked any, or even that he jumped. There is always something more to the story.
The only person to say Ryan was smoking salvia and then jumped off the balcony is the main suspect in the case. I say 'suspect', not from anything in the article but from watching too many CSI episodes where they often say to 'follow the evidence'.
The story is based on the last person to see him alive, his ex. You have two people on a balcony and one ends up dead on the ground. There are any number of scenarios that might have happened. I'll wait until after the toxicology reports are in to decide.

I'm in total agreeance. I have no idea how he could had the coordination to get up and run from inside a room to jump over a balcony. He must have been either leaning over it or very near it already if the salvia was truly affecting him strongly, unless his particular brain chemistry is nothing like mine or the people I know who have done it. I've tried walking while on a hit of 10x, and I might as well have been blind. What I was seeing was almost useless, because there were just faint, twisted pieces of what was really around me. If I'd have tried to go through a door, I'd have probably gone face first into the jamb.

It takes time to understand sally, its a meditation drug, and from what ive learned sitting still listening to music while on it is a great exsperiance, But to get up and walk feels like im breaking the laws of nature so i like to sit as still as i can and not make a sound. Ive always been very lucid on it ever since i got a good understanding for it, its quiet nice to trip out and not forget who i am. Alot of individuals seem to treat salvia as if its a game.
What i dont understand is how this sitter managed to just sit there and let his friend trip out and fall off a balcony like that. Poor guy thoe, what a way to go.

The only other person to mention this mentioned it jokingly.
This seems kind of farfetched to me because it seems plausible that ingesting salvia on a 15th floor balcony could result in something like this.
However, it's definitely possible and as veggie said, until the tox reports come in there's no way to know if he was even smoking salvia.
Either way I've never dosed and been more than 15-20 feet or so off of the ground. I also try to stay away from large bodies of water while tripping.
Sometimes people try to fit too much life into the package and "burst through the envelope" so to speak. I'm really interested in, but won't go motorcycling while on mescaline, not even at city speeds of 25 mph in an enclosed parking lot (though I might one day soon when I get another bike and can use my old one for bullshitting around with). I would however probably drive an atv or a dirt bike in an enclosed/zero traffic, low tree environment while tripping.
Being 150 feet in the air is dangerous. Coupled with salvia, the situation became *too* dangerous. There was a percentage chance that something could go wrong. Moving from wherever they were to the balcony upped that percentage chance significantly.

Edit: changing everything.
I had a friend get up and run out of my room in a panic (on salvia), I caught him at my front door but I was running. If I wasn't on top of things he would have got out and either thrown a shit fit or got hit by a car.
On another occasion I got up and ran headfirst into my door. Why? Idk I'm not that stupid.
Salvias wierd, if you're going to sit for someone you've got to be ready to restrain them. I can definitely see this balcony incident happening, as you can still open doors on salvia and even unlock them.

Sorry for your loss Missjules.
I have seen on separate occasions people stand up and run into walls, a door, and jump down the steps on salvia. It is not uncommon behavior for people to do this, and they are completely incapacitated from the salvia. A senseless tragedy that could have been avoided.

savlia is a strong and unpredictable hallucinogenic/dissociative drug, and it's a shame he was doing it with someone who wasn't able to look after him properly.

I'm glad she posted.
Was i the only one getting sort of angry over people saying this guy was a moron?
Every person that dies from a drug you like isn't a moron FFS.
And it seems like that crazy hoe could've pushed him, and there was already 2 people to suspect that in this thread.
Not everyone that dies accidentally is a moron.

Its a joke from a bill hicks comedy routine called "positive drug story. In reality it's a combination of uninformed irresponsible people using drugs and the media choosing to only cover negative drug stories. The point is for every 1 person who trips and tries to fly there are 100who trip and over come fears, discover their purpose/meaning of life, get over addictions etc etc but you never hear about those stories
