Yea I would imagine certain music could freak you out for sure. I personally don't like any music while tripping..

Music doesn't tend to mess with me when I'm tripping. The pace, tempo, or harshness (for lack of a better word) don't really effect my trip at all.
There have been times while adventuring that I've realized that the lyrics to music are no longer in English, or sound like distant beings chanting to the song I chose being played backwards. Usually this freak out only lasts for a split second until I re-realize that I'm .
One time, while tripping with a few friends, they had the TV on while music was playing in the background. The sounds of the TV were combating the sounds of the stereo and this made me extremely uncomfortable.

A few weeks ago durng the peak of a VERY hard trip I turned on some random shpongle track, and the insane flurry of percussion gave me crazy geometric visuals and was essentially a sensory overload that happened in a nanosecond flat. I was tripping too hard to deal with that haha so I had to turn it off.

Did you listen to the video I posted in the OP? Television sounds nor Shpongle are anywhere near the level of 'grind-your-mind-to-sawdust'-ness of that song. You will know the true meaning of 'insane flurry of percussion', my friend.

I have had the tempo of slow songs warp time for me before. For example I was listening to a really slow song and started feeling like everything was moving in slow motion including my talking movement and reaction times. It only lasted for a minute or so but it felt like a week. It was scary as hell.

Ha, Once upon a time, long ago, when I was a newbie and didn't really know what I was doing, I took two hits of acid and when I peaked I listened to the Doors song, the end on repeat for the next five hours. It freaked me out a bit at the time. Man, those were the good days.

It was about 5 years back, tripping on some mushrooms that I'd grown from a kit online. I was watching MTV when "In Da Club" by 50 Cent came on. Most of the song was a blur, but parts of it pierced through the blurriness of my audio reception. Parts of the chorus, and most of the non music related sound effects. It kind of made me uncomfortable, as most of the trip that night was anyways. I get very selective hearing when I am tripping and listening to music.

Yeah, Echos - Pink Floyd, one time when I did 39 grams fresh cyans lemon tek. Echos started to weird me out just about the time the streetlights turned deep green.
Everything turned out great though.

I think heavy metal is awesome while tripping, including Black/Death Metal. I have listened to it while tripping and I think it's awesome.

There is certain music that I don't like sober. This feeling of dislike is usually amplified while i'm tripping.

Shpongle has definitely pulled me into another realm for a few hours.
Oddly enough, when I was tripping on mescaline for the first and only time, we were listening to Jimi Hendrix, and I had to turn it after a few songs because I was getting a really heavy misogynistic vibe from good ole' Jimi. I'm very light-hearted, easy-going, and when I see/hear people being misogynists, I usually joke along with them or can at least laugh at it. But for whatever reason some of Jimi's songs really made me feel uncomfortable....
Also to note from that trip, I couldn't stare at my friend's paintings because I was seeing way too much of his karma on the wall.
The first time I tripped on acid, my friends were listening to TOOL (this was before I became an avid listener), and I remember thinking, "How can you listen to this dark shit right now?" It didn't freak me out or anything, I just thought it was an odd musical selection. I have since spent whole trips in the dark with TOOL....
But I still can't imagine listening to death/hate metal on psychedelics.

I don't tend to listen to music because the first thing to go is my hearing. Long before the visuals start all auditory input starts to sound like a skipping CD. Chunks of sound between 1 and 5 seconds long get distorted, inverted, even deleted by the time they hit my brain. Music just becomes the white noise soundtrack to my own private Idaho.
I can imagine that if a body didn't understand or accept or embrace what was happening that music could become a major problem, especially if a body's expectations were high and inflexible.

On an oral DMT trip, a song ended in an explosion and screaming. This went on for a minute and when it ended, my living room ceiling seemed to rip open and FUCKING God's presence and aura filled the room. It was heavy, just what you'd imagine. I had never felt anything like that in my life, considering I am an agnostic. Anyway, I said, "The Bible is true? Get the fuck out of here!!!" My itunes was on random and some crazy heavy metal song came on and it was God speaking through it to me, screaming at me. I said, "Fuck you!!!"
I said Fuck You to God. At the time I was convinced it was Him. I got balls of steel.
I promptly called my mom and she talked some sense back into me. I'm still agnostic.

You're (potentially) fucked dude. But you got some big steel cojones indeed
I'm still waiting for the poor tripping soul to actually listen to the song I posted in the OP.

Sunset-Mission, that song is too intense. I wouldn't dare subject myself to that type of madness during a trip. It's fucking torture. I can listen to Type O Negative, Clutch, Monster Magnet, and shit with balls and swagger, but Deathspell Omega + psychedelic drugs is asking for all sorts of everlasting trouble.

I dig it from an aesthetic and musical perspective. It sounds like uncontrolled chaos but listening to it tripping allows me to hear every note and how perfectly crafted it is..., and quite frankly the riffs and overall composition of the song boggle my mind. Whoever wrote this song is probably insane, and nobody should be able to play this... yet listening to it it dawns on me that someone is in fact playing this song, somewhere. Plus I personally just love to experience the extremes of what this world has to offer.
Admittedly while Deathspell Omega don't freak me out, there have been brief times when I was slightly afraid to listen to them because I'd thought I'd inadvertently sold my soul to Satan while listening to it tripped out.

Yeah man it took me quite a few listens to this song/that album in general to actually get WTF was going on and not just "what in the name of fuck did I just hear " and become a writhing traumatized puddle of ooze. It's the transition from the intro to the unexpected chaos that hammers my mind.
