People told me to stop by and introduce myself, so hello everyone! I've been looking for wild mushrooms outside illadelph. Surprisingly, there's supposedly six to eight species growing in southeastern Pennsylvania. I believe this is the main season they grow too, but if anyone feels generous and wants to help me out here with the mycology, go for it. Also, I never can figure out how to categorize my post to the right thread...hmmm. So basically just trying to say hello and network friends, I play music so let me know about that, maybe if people in the area, meet up for a L. Peas out!

Seems like a lot of PA people are around lately. At least when I'm on anyways..

It's not really the season right now for much of anything. Almost all kind of wild mushrooms in general grow from the spring through late fall or early winter in some cases. Speaking from personal experience hunting in the PA area - It is a rarity to find any regular cap/stem mushroom at this time of year. Only a couple extreme edibles and a few other obsolete species could possibly fruit during the main winter months. Definitely not actives.

Welcome
Good luck finding actives in PA. They're out there, but I lived in SE and SW PA for many years and never had any luck.
Don't give up though!
