I would say its probably like what it is like when you trip.
Have you ever asked a colorblind person, "hey what color does this red key chain look like to you? Or what color does this blue chair look like?"
They get pissed because to them, that red keychain is a red keychain in their mind. They've been told what red is supposed to be and what is usually red. But red is not red and they don't even know what red is. Or maybe its the other way around? Maybe us regular ones are wrong.
It's all perception buddy

The concept of this question is actually an interesting one, separation of the physical and the mental.

I'm blind in one eye and would also like to know if anyone completely blind has tripped because for me sometimes when my eyes are closed while tripping its like i can see.

That is actually a really interesting question, and I had never thought about it. I guess if you were used to being blind it probably wouldn't be particularly scary, in fact, I would assume that you'd get some sort of CEV type response and maybe distortion of the other senses. Sucks I don't know any blind people or you bet your ass I'd be drugging them! (maybe not seriously, but its a funny thought).

Most "colorblind" people aren't truly blind to all colors. Usually it's either red or green that they are blind to, not all colors.

The better question is, if someone is completely blind, how would they ever read that question to be able to answer it?

A friend of mine (also a shroomery member) had told me he could see colors perfectly when he trips on mushrooms, and he's really colorblind.

I have also thought on this question a lot lately. I've come to the conclusion that in the standard case of color blindness the user would indeed see colors (as a non-colorblind person would)- but only hallucinated colors, not colors as exemplified by our normal sight. Psilocybin in particular works on the serotonergic receptors in the brain, and in this case in the visual cortex, making them fire even without concrete stimuli. Your standard colorblindness is a deficit only in the photoreceptors in the retina. In the case of random firing in the visual cortex (which has a high concentration of serotonin related receptors) during a psilocybin induced experience, a color blind person should indeed be able to see colors as never before.
Note that I said 'standard' color blindness. In a far rarer case, a person may be colorblind due to a lesion or other deficit in the visual cortex. If the brain can't process in that specific area, then no colors no matter what (excluding some highly advanced round about technology not related to chemicals).

I have a red deficiency. Because of this I have difficulty distinguishing some shades of yellow and green.
That being said, I can still see red. I know what red is AND my brain is full capable of processing all the color signals. It's just the yes not sending it the correct color combination so the brain reads is "wrong".
When I trip, colors change. This is because the psychedelic is actually causing my photoreceptors (essentially just special neurons that are just as capable of being affected by psychedelics as any other neuron) to fire at the wrong times, giving my brain the illusion of changing colors.
Theoretically, because I can see the ishihara test number if I mess with the hue in photoshop, I would say that I would probably see the numbers wile tripping too. Simply because as I said, the brain can fully see the colors it's just the eyes sending the wrong ones.
But I've never put it to the test because obviously it would a bit hard to distinguish anything amidst a bunch of dots while tripping :P

I'm not color blind but I can't distinguish colors from each other. I mix the like colors up like red and brown, blue and purple, yellow and orange, green and brown, etc
Trippin doesn't make me able to distinguish better but I see souch more. I have a friend who is black and white colorblind he says he still can't see shit lol

Well, the pathway in your eye that runs from the photoreceptors, through the optic nerve, and so on are actually a glutamate pathway (which is not stimulated by psilocybin). It could be possible to affect the actual photoreceptor with chemicals, but not with any hallucinogen that I know of. Not until visual cortex do you see the serotonin pathways.
The most likely reason one would be colorblind is due to an overabundance of the wrong color-transmitting protein in the cone cell.

spot on PsylioSynethesis.

optic nerve, and so on are actually a glutamate pathway (which is not stimulated by psilocybin)
but i read somewhere that psiloc(yb)in induces glutamatergic release in certain areas. they also said that we don't know much about all of the areas that it's released, so we cant really rule out increased glutamatergic responses in that pathway from psychedelics.
i have read two reports of blind people tripping on psychedelics that were very interesting. i was thinking about this a couple years ago and decided to research it a bit. the below is going off memory, some info might be wrong.
one was of a person that was blind from age 5. they had strong closed eye visuals of things they saw before going blind.
another was of someone blind from birth. they did a somewhat high dose of mushrooms and their sense of touch and other things were a little changed. once they reached the peak, they described a new sense they had never felt before.
who knows, that new sense could have been closed eye visuals. if a person had never seen before, they wouldn't know what sight was.
