Humidifiers

It's hard for me to be around to mist and fan so I am trying to build a large fruiting chamber to put trays and or cakes in that will be almost entirely automatic.
My plan is as follows: Large clear bin, about two feet tall, could probably hold around 45 pint sized cakes.
Make it into a shotgun terrarium.
I have a coolmist humidifer. One of those 35 dollar ones you can find at target.
Build a cheap system of tubes that will cover and seal with the top of the coolmist where the fan blows. A few tubes will attach to the top of the chamber, evenly spaced.
Set a timer for the lights.
Set a timer for the coolmist, telling it to run for a half hour every two hours.
What do you think of this plan? Do you think the humidity will be sufficient? How could I improve it?
Are there any affordable humidifiers that could let off a good enough mist to just let it run all the time?
Ideally I'd like to do nothing but refill a water tank on a humidifier once or twice a day.

This is harder to do than it seems, but not impossible. Jokefox has an automated cake machine. But for most of us, it's easier to move to tubs or greenhouses instead of automating a shotgun.

Ultra sonic humidifiers are easy to automate. All you do it put a small amount of water in them. After a few runs you'll see how much water you need to put in them. What happens is when they run out of water, they shutoff but the fan keeps on going providing FAE. If you put too much water in them ,it will saturate your substrate with too much water. Too little water and it will dry it out. I plumb one into my monotubs and I only need to add water every two days. It's all automated without the need for a timer. I set it to the lowest setting and leave it on 24hrs a day. It has so much FAE I had a bucket of trich infested grain sitting next to my monotub for weeks and it can't grab ahold of it.

My coolmist is easily able to get my entire room up to about 60-70 percent humidity. I think that if I had it blowing into a chamber that had wet perlite in it that it would be both like misting and fanning at the same time. I think the timing would be the crucial part.
My only thought is, does it make sense that if the coolmist can only get my room to 70 percent does that mean that the air coming out of it is only that humid? So is that the limit to how much humidity it can put into the chamber if it's the chambers only source of humidity?
I think that wet perlite would remedy that, but I'm not entirely sure.
But I tell you what I am going to do. My current chamber was set up for an ultrasonic fogger in in a tank with an air pump to pump fog into the top. I think I will go to lowes and get some stuff to get the coolmist to blow into a tube into that existing opening. Then I'll make the holes at the bottom of the chamber a lot smaller and set it on a timer.
I will update with my observations.
