I don't expect anything of it. When it comes to tripping I don't expect the experience to hold great significant nor do I think there is no possible relevance to it either.
As far as trusting the universe physically (rather than mentally) I do trust it completely. I trust that it will do whatever it damn well pleases regardless of how it effects me.

shivas.wisdom said: Those same Buddhas talk about the various levels of hell below us [there is a crushing hell, burning hell, cutting hell..], not to mention the realm of pretas [starving ghosts], which are the counterbalance to the various heavenly realms above.
Tibetan Buddhist cosmology:

The bottom slice of the circle is hell, the bottom left is the realm of pretas. Even the top right slice, a part of the heavenly realm, is full of demigods burning with jealously towards the gods on the top--constantly waging war and losing. My point? If you do trust the words of such Buddhas, than be afraid of where you end up after death, unless you have achieved knowledge of buddha-mind.
well, now that u put it that way.. I am highly skeptical about a physical plane of hell that you just automatically end up in if you're bad in life. seems like a great system of control..
are they talking about literal planes of hell/heaven?

Well, whether they are literal places or merely realms of the psyche, I can't say. Neither heaven or hell are places you stay for eternity [like the Christian heaven/hell] though, eventually your good or bad karma runs out and you are reborn elsewhere.
It still stands to say, that if you can imagine whatever comes after death as being better than life now, you can also imagine it as being worse, or being exactly the same. Uncertainty.. the unknown.. death.. she is a scary thing.

I trust it, in a passive way. I don't make a point to rely on the universe to make something happen, but its existence supersedes everything including life, which gives it some qualities to be trustworthy about.
Not trusting the universe would be futile, the reality of our situation is that we're here on this terrestrial body drifting through emptiness at the mercy of the universe. It's worked out pretty well for the last few billion years following the same patterns of rotation, speed, distance, relative to the sun and other objects in the local solar system. Consistency such as that contributes to my amount of trust. There's no end to that in sight in during our lifetimes, at least in my opinion.

You build your own hell according to the karma you carry with you.
If you accept that this is an illusion, that we can return to the unformed no-mind, there will be nothing to fear.
Till the realms of cyclic existence are emptied!

I cant possibly understand why it would be naive. Put trust into the very thing you are a product of, and without which you wouldnt exist? You realize having trust for or against anything is just bound by all laws and concepts of the universe anyways, so putting trust into it or not you are forever a mercy of the system.
I'm mean sure you can fight and say fuck it and argue, but why? Enjoy the ride man. Nothing Naive about it. As if anything in the universe could even possibly happen unless it were meant to...
How can you be so sure of something you know little about? I believe the universe is random and holds no order (thus opposing the idea of a deity) and so cannot completely trust the way it works. With it also being infinite, the realms of possibility and chance are too enormous to comprehend which is also why I stand by my statement.
And yes I agree, enjoy the ride!
I'm only sure of it by virtue of what can exist. You're like a computer programming code who thinks he isnt bound by the system, but you're just full of it because once the computer turns off, you're gone too. Whether you are or arent sure of the universe, or whether you know or dont knoy anything about it, you're always and forever bound by the limits and laws of it. You're really not looking at this in the cosmic sense I'm trying to portray. You're acting like a human could know above and beyond the confines of the universe. Even if you dont put trust into it.... you're putting trust into the notion that that is how you are operating at this space-time junction.
Dont bother responding, this was more a rant for myself because we're seemingly not on the same page about this.
EDIT: Honestly this is kind of an interpretation of my DMT trip, so there's no use convincing anyone else of anything about it.

I trust it completely, though I know there is nothing to trust but a transparent layer of illusion and magic.

That creepy dude would be Yama, lord of death. He represents the impermanence of all existence, and his abode would be in naraka [hell realm].
But the Buddha chilling on the cloud in the top right corner represents liberation from the cycle of existence.
