Do you trust it?

This thread is devoted to one of the biggest questions that can be asked:
DO YOU TRUST IT?
You may not trust yourself around a big pile of cocaine. You may not trust the intrinsic good of people, when SS stormtroopers have herded you and your family on a cattle cart to Poland. If you are among the five hundred million poorest people in the world, or the five hundred million sickest people in the world, you may not trust the notion that you will live through this year.
You may not trust that inner urge when you're holding that tenstrip of LSD that tells you: "come on, take them all, I have great things to show you".
But do you trust it? The big picture?

Do you trust this universe, and your own life as a mortal in it? Do you trust that one thing that ties you together with the planets and stars, all living things and all Eternity? Do you trust that when you die, in whatever way, its going to be OK - even if you do not yet know what that may be?
I'm not asking about small scraps, or the nature of individuals or humanity at large.
The Universe and your place in it.. Do you trust it?
?

I myself, I trust it, and I'm striving to trust it completely.
Or to rephrase that - I believe I trust it completely but it hasnt sunken in yet, and I really want this notion to sink in.

After my first breakthrough on DMT, while on mushrooms just a few hours ago, I can say I do without a doubt. I pretty much got to the point where it was like "Sorry, as long as you're a human, you'll only get this far.", but the veil was so damn thin. I knew there was other shit going on, there was no way I could construct this shit

Honestly I think I also consciously adopt the attitude that everything is the way it is because it should be. Or because everything should be the way it is because it is that way.... if that makes sense, hahaha. Still processing this DMT trip. Surprising lucid and utterly weird.

I think it'd be very naiive to place ones entire trust into something so vast and complex as the nature of the universe.

I trust that when I'm dead I'm dead, that the only connection we have to the universe is that we occupy a tiny portion of it

I dont know why people worry about death so much.. it's either gonna be a void of nothingness(so why worry at all, you wont know about it. though I highly doubt this theory.. seems way too simplistic given the psychedelic experience, the near-death experience, and the complexity of the universe) or something else. 'whatever else' is probably a lot better than our situation here on earth
Now granted i'd be singing a different tune if somebody told me i'd die tomorrow... but in the meanwhile im not gonna worry about it. Like, at all. there's no point

I cant possibly understand why it would be naive. Put trust into the very thing you are a product of, and without which you wouldnt exist? You realize having trust for or against anything is just bound by all laws and concepts of the universe anyways, so putting trust into it or not you are forever a mercy of the system.
I'm mean sure you can fight and say fuck it and argue, but why? Enjoy the ride man. Nothing Naive about it. As if anything in the universe could even possibly happen unless it were meant to...

How can you be so sure of something you know little about? I believe the universe is random and holds no order (thus opposing the idea of a deity) and so cannot completely trust the way it works. With it also being infinite, the realms of possibility and chance are too enormous to comprehend which is also why I stand by my statement.
And yes I agree, enjoy the ride!

I think I trust it--but I'm not really sure if this trust is an authentic trust, or an artificial one created in my mind to reduce anxiety in the face of an unknown.

Probably because that 'whatever else' is equally conceivable as something much worse than our current situation. We really have no idea what it will be.

Remember that story about the Chinese wanting to restrict reincarnation?
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/article2194682.ece
I mean, they seem pretty damn sure of themselves when it comes to this reincarnation thing. I don't know about you but the I trust the buddhas who have been studying this stuff for such a long period of time. And some reincarnation anecdotes you read about are pretty

Those same Buddhas talk about the various levels of hell below us [there is a crushing hell, burning hell, cutting hell..], not to mention the realm of pretas [starving ghosts], which are the counterbalance to the various heavenly realms above.
Tibetan Buddhist cosmology:

The bottom slice of the circle is hell, the bottom left is the realm of pretas. Even the top right slice, a part of the heavenly realm, is full of demigods burning with jealously towards the gods on the top--constantly waging war and losing. My point? If you do trust the words of such Buddhas, than be afraid of where you end up after death, unless you have achieved knowledge of buddha-mind.
