Safe or not? Just saw a beautiful woman walking out of the elevator stoned out of her mind. (Bloodshot eyes, enjoying life huge grin, with a sober friend so I hope they are staying for more than one night and I will run into them again. So......smoking weed in hotel rooms, fun or paranoia in a non smoking room?

ive smoked plenty of weed in hotels. you just have to do it in really shitty ones.
and when i say really shitty, i mean like a hotel where you are scared to touch anything, and you only get the room because you cant drive around all night. and at 3am you notice your neighbor for the night is a crackhead and he is outside smoking cigarette butts and mumbling to himself.
one of my friends pissed in the dresser in a shitty hotel like that.
id be careful of what you touch. unless its a decent hotel where you can actually sleep in the bed. in which case you likely dont want to smoke in there. but most of my hotel memories come from really shitty hotels because bad decisions make good stories.
actually, you can smoke in some really nice "hotels" but thats more like getting a suite which you can do whatever the fuck you want in.

Yeah, that's the attitude I like. If I see them at breakfast I'll give it a go if they are interested. It's a good motel at the heart of a city, they will be fine either way. But overall smoking weed, everywhere needs to honor a medical marijuana card for it if that is what it takes to get to legalisation like cigerettes.

I think part of my judgement call would be based on how stanky the weed is, and how well the window functioned.
I was at a super-swank hotel with some friends, and the weed we had was super dank (we were in Seattle, and had purchased at a big hemp festival a few days prior).
Our window opened all the way and had no screen, though, so hanging out of it and blazing hard was no problem.

Yeah, not going to worry about it. If they are there during breakfast and they want to, it will be done. if not, then on to other ventures.

I didn't realize how much experience I have with toking in hotel/motel rooms until gathering memories of how often I've done it to compose a response... I suppose I could give some useful advice then.
First off, I wouldn't recommend buying drugs in a foreign country. It probably ranks up there as one of the more reckless things I've done, especially because of how corrupt both the drug business and the law enforcement agencies are in Mexico. In my defense, my ex and I were staying at an all-inclusive (food and drink) 5-star resort for a week with unlimited access to 13 restaurants on site as well as an extensive room service menu. It was the best idea ever at the time, and I have no regrets . Here's where we made another rookie mistake, by rolling a joint and proceeding to smoke it in the bathroom of our room. It was only after we finished it and were sufficiently stoned that I realized there was no sort of ventilation in the bathroom that was filled with dense skunky smoke. The always unwelcome feeling of paranoia was setting in as we frantically fanned smoke as far away from the bathroom door as possible, and stuffed extra towels over every door crack that led to the outside of the room. I'll be honest, it was a complete shit-show, and with the room smelling all sorts of dank, there was no way I was about to order room service despite the hunger pangs brought on with the munchies. I think we ended up leaving the room and going to a restaurant after the high settled a bit.
The following day we got our method down to a science after constructing a smoking device out of one of the various fresh tropical fruits left in our room by the cleaning ladies. I believe it was a guava that served as our pipe for the first few days, followed by a pear. I tried to get creative with a coconut but it didn't work out. At this point whenever we smoked we would just leave the back sliding door open a crack, take a peek to see if anyone was out there, and puff away. What a great time .
The single best piece of advice I can give, especially to all the youngin's out there still toking in their parents' basement, is to acquire a HEPA air purifier. They're a bit pricy but completely worth it to clear any undesirable smells out of a room quickly. My ex and I were staying in a decent motel (in America) and I brought my air purifier along. Just blow the smoke towards the intake and it disappears along with the fear of a passerby catching a whiff.
In times of desperation, I've MacGyver'd a sploof out of the toilet paper roll from the bathroom by stuffing it with some TP and spraying it with cologne/perfume (since most of us don't travel with dryer sheets). If you didn't bring any cologne/perfume along you can also get creative with the pre-packaged coffee most motels/hotels have and stuff it in the tube instead. Whatever's clever .
The vaporizer is an excellent compromise too. While it's not completely stealth, if you've got a lot of people who want to simultaneously get high it'll give you the lowest smoke:stoned ratio so that you can all be sufficiently baked without a lot of stank, and any odor that is produced will disappear quickly as is the nature of vapor.
I've been fortunate to never have gotten caught in the dozen or so times I've smoked in hotel rooms. Just try to think your plan out before getting too high to function and it'll be all gravy .

I've heard horrid stories about Mexico and the police, no matter even if it's overdoing alcohol. Air purifiers, good idea. I like the sound of it, it's soothing to me as well as getting rid of the smell. Good advice.

I always got away with it.. but it depends on the hotel you are in and the location of your room. Reminds me of the time the power was out in the entire hotel and my friend saw this girl trying to spark a blunt outside. But the reason the power was out was because of a hurricane! I went up and talked to her for a minute, told her she could smoke in our hotel room... so me and this girl were smoking a blunt in the bathroom of our hotel room, in complete darkness!

Maybe somebody's said this already, if so my apologies. But I throw a damp towel under the door, turn on the hot water, when it's nice and steamy I go in, smoke up that's all she wrote. I've never had any complains, and I like to stay in decent hotels. At the least it removes my paranoia. The only problem I have is with ordering room service after I smoke. Expensive ass pizzas!

smoking in hotels isn't really that sketch. as long as you're not obvious about it there's not really any way they'd be able to pin point which room the smell is coming from, that's IF they can even smell it.
i've smoked in every hotel i've been in in the past 3 years atleast and i do a fair amount of traveling where i stay in hotels during the summers. this isn't just cheap hotels but all range of hotels. holiday inns, best western, motel 6, etc.
id say it's on the same level as smoking in an apartment, which again is really chill unless you happen to have super nosy neighboors

The best part about being in a hotel is being in a different city with different restaurants. I love exploring my food options post-smoking, they always make it so easy when they leave a list of all the nearby restaurants complete with menus. The more I think about it the more I realize how fucking awesome it is getting high in hotel/motel rooms. Plus they usually have premium cable unlike my broke ass at home so there's always something entertaining to watch once food has been acquired.

My one, and only, experience with a prostitute was with a call-girl in a hotel.
First thing she did was lift the sheets and check under them, because, "you never know what people do in here..."

You just gave me the biggest urge to travel. I have done a lot of traveling in my day, but it's all been with my parents. I should probably go on a trip where I have more freedom (although I'm very grateful for the trips they took me on).

I've done both of these things. Not a huge deal.
With non-smoking rooms, blow small rips out the window. With smoking rooms, it doesn't really matter. You can cover up the smell with cigs if you must.

Of course it's safe. You have a right for privacy in your room. I saw many reviews even on luxury hotels where people did it https://planetofhotels.com/en/philippines/tacloban and administration was absolutely okay with that.

I once stayed in a hotel room across from the Seattle Library that is shaped like a giant Camera lens, when people ran red lights and the camera flash went off it reflected in the iris of the building and refracted back into the room and filled the entire place with like 100% pure bright white light
This is the Seattle Library for reference

I do not agree with some of your statements. Even small hotels could give you a lot of comfort like Marriot, Fairmont and etc. When I was in Atlanta I have stayed in "Month and years hotel" that include about 4-5 suits. It was a really calm atmosphere there and personal was really friendly. They use special hotel software that could give their clients unlimited service. Call servant, optimize water in the bath and set up the time of curtains opening.

Depends on the hotel. I've never personally refrained from toking it up in hotel rooms regardless of the quality hotel or their policy and I've never been so much as spoken to about it let alone charged with a deposit fee or anything outrageous.
The truth is, and many hotels understand this, is that if I smoke a room out with cigarettes all night, you'll be able to smell it the following night whereas the same isn't true for cannabis smoke. It genuinely doesn't linger as long.
