What are opinions on Allgood?
    #14094931 - 03/09/11 08:59 PM (12 years, 11 months ago)

Some friends are going, I got my ticket so I am probably going, haha.

Whats the consensus to those of you who went last year or recently? Personally, the lineup this year made me bust a nut because so far I haven't been to a larger festival, I've just made it out to Nelson's Ledges and smaller festivals.

Words please.

I have never been, but I have many acquaintances who have been multiple times. They all like the smaller vibe.

To me the lineups are typical hippie jamfests {electronic, bluegrass, Dead cover band} and not diverse enough.

All Tomorrow's Parties is where it's at. Animal Collective curated the upcoming May one and are bringing Scratch Perry and Terry Riley for fuck's sake.

a link to a furthur recording that rivals any '72 playing in the band or truckin > drums > other one jams will change my opinion.

I've been to allgood the past 3 years and will probably go again this year.
It's on the top of a mountain so you've got some sweet long range views
its a pretty great festival, lots of good people and good music with no overlapping sets

It is called allHOOD for a reason
like any larger festival there is a sketchy element
perhaps allgood more so than others I don't know

last year it seemed really overcrowded
and allot of people weren't there for the music
hopefully its better this year but I'm not holding my breath
still probably end up going tho
all my friends will be there

well of course they aren't going to be on par with early 70's GD

if that's the standard that you are holding live music to then you must not enjoy going to shows.

they are not a cover band because they take it FURTHUR
they are writing new songs
and jamming the fuck out on the classic tunes.

I suggest you check out this playin' > crazy fingers > Other One > jam > Morning Dew

actually just listen to the whole second set.
