getting a "verified" mmj card?
    #14093413 - 03/09/11 04:21 PM (12 years, 10 months ago)

I was doing some research today and i ran across a couple of places like the Oakland patient id center and i really dont get why people would go to/pay places like this.
all they do is verify existing medical reccomendations and give you a card.
why bother? its a waste of money, the dispensaries allready verify your reccomendation and most doctors who give recommedations allready supply them with photo's and wallet sized cards.
I really dont get why places like this exist. are they just there trying to make money from the confusion about recommendations and county/state cards?

county issued cards are easily verified by law enforcement, whereas a simple med recc is not, necessarily.  Police may confiscate your medicine if they can't easily verify.

yeah, but theres no reason a dispensary would take and verify a doctors recommendation for one year then all of a sudden not accept a recommendation from the same doctor the next year (unless they lost their license).

yes, but these companies dont actually register it with the county, just their own private database. i just assumed that most doctors recommendations came with a number to call to verify it.
