last minute grow questions

im doing my last sterilization boil tonight and then im going to inoculate them once they cool for a few hours. i have three major questions: - how easy is it to over boil pf cakes? im inspecting my cakes closely and i think there is still ample amount of moisture in them but im not 100% sure. I boiled them for 60 min the other day and the pf cakes closer to the bottom were getting bubbles/water splashed on the side. - does the colinization chamber (i.e. the incubator) have to be well humidified? i think i will anyways because of my unsureness of the cakes being hydrated enough. - would it be a bad idea to leave my pf cakes colonizing for 8 days while im gone on a trip?

Dont think you need to worry about over boiling. I wouldnt use an incubator.. Set them on a shelf or something. (dont humidify your cakes till you birth them) 8 days, youll be fine.

In that case I'd suggest placing them at the highest point in the room you're leaving them in. Heat rises.

I wouldn't spend money on it. Find a warm spot, over the fridge or wherever.

Heat bomb in a cooler, if you're set on doing it. Don't go over 78F.

bro, I'm in MN also, I've been colonizing cakes in 55 degree weather. You're fine :-) the cold will just slow them down a bit, but I was able to get fruits in 58 degree weather... no worries bruv!
