These are they, ten in all for those of us who can not count, and chugging along smoothly.

So far there has not been any noticeable signs of contamination, aside from a few exceptions, the majorette look like these:

I am not sure what this condensation is from, and if it is normal or not, but it is there. Should I be worried or is this pretty common?

There is a little condensation on the inside of this jar as well, but it is showing some nice spider webs-like growth.

Anyone have any opinions or see something I do not? Also, is that about the average amount of growth to be seeing at a little over two weeks?
Oh yeah--the PES Hawaiian spores have just been shot into jars. Pictures of those will come around when I come back from vacation in 2 weeks.

I am a bit surprised that there aren't any contaminants yet. I am either lucky, or being super anal about sterilizing anything I have touched has paid off.

Condensation is normal. =)
However, our mycelium looks to be not as white as mine. May be the camera or something.. anyone else notice the off-whiteness?

Glad to hear that the condensation is normal.
The mycelium does seem lighter to other jars I have seen, but I am thinking it has to do with my substrate. It was a finer substrate, with out too many pockets for air--consistency of sand almost.I think it may be this. Some of the areas that have had colonization longer have a whiter color to them.
I think that is whats up, but can someone confirm? =]

your absolutly fine, jars usually will have some condensation in them just due to the difference of temp from outside and the inside where the myc releases heat.

Oh, I am talking about the thin myc spread. It is spreading pretty far, but nearly see through in a lot of places. Condensation is off of my worry list =]

those jars look like they are growing fine, let them colonize completly and then wait a week before birthing.

I would be game for that. I am going to take as many prints as possible off of every batch I do--I plan to use them as currency on that market place forum ;]. Aside from the PE-Hawaiian and B+, my next endeavor will be with some Albino A+ and maybe some dancing tigers.

Agreed, but in a bout of paranoia, googled to crap out of all of my user names which revolve around this one, and purged the existence of any tell tail signs of my true identity.

Here is just a little bit of an update on my going on ins the wondrous world of mycology:
All of my cakes were about 90-95 percent colonized by the end of last week, but most seemed to have stalled as they did not progress over the weekend.
As recommended by the all mighty search engine, I flipped the jars, breaking the contact between the cakes and jars. A bit of substrate stuck to the bottom of the jars, but I assume this is normal. Colonization resumed. Hooray.
So, I am hoping to get these puppies into a FC by Saturday. They will have been sitting at +90% for over a week by the time they are birthed. Is this a sufficient amount of time, even with the small stalled patches? Should I go ahead and birth them, or let them sit a while longer?

The substrate at the center is detached from the rest of the cake. Aside from a few of the jars, everything is completely colonized. I will be birthing most of them this weekend.

And this is just because:

8 days ago my cakes entered their fruiting chamber resulting in a single, sexy pin. That's right, one pin

And here are the rest of the cakes, which look awfully un-sexy and barren, and their house:

Hopefully I will be getting more results in the next week or so.
ADD IN:
I am thinking it is a little bit dry in the tub, even with all my misting. I placed a cup of water in the tub directly beneath the light source to help add a bit more moisture, but this may be doing absolutely nothing. The GH in my room is pretty low, maybe a space humidifier would help raise levels inside the tub?

Indeed I did...Well, I thought I did. The jars stalled at about 95 percent, so I flipped them, then birthed them a few days later. This could explain the slow pin time. A few of the cakes are looking beautiful now, but some still have few to no pins.

More pins!

These last two look like faces... Especially that last one.

Out of the ten cakes, and the serpent, these are the only ones with noticeable/impressive (to me :]) growth.
I expect a flush with in a week.

I think that would explain your "late" pinset:
(11 days, 1 hour ago) You flipped the jars until full colonization (3 days, 1 hour ago) In this post, 8 days ago you put them in fruiting conditions. So you waited 3 days instead of a week which is why it was a bit later than expected. Glad to see some pins though
Keep it up!
Also, from some research I have done, it seems your cakes have standing water on them which will cause rotting or sometimes abort but nothing to worry about and cause unnecessary vibes. Fan a bit more and mist the same so there is no standing water. From what I have read continuously, it is the evaporation that is the pinning trigger. No worries though, looking beautiful (:

My lack of patience got the best of me =]
I can attribute the standing water to the fact that I usually take pictures right around the time I finish misting. I mist, water builds up, but then mostly evaporates or is absorbed. Thank you for the heads up though, I would not want my cakes to rot!
Also, what thinks you on a air humidifier next to the tub? I am thinking of getting a small cool mist humidifier to get the humidity levels squared off in my room... Think it would help?

I read a lot of people saying it's ridiculous to put them in the FC but I even put one outside to give my room a humidity boost. It easily goes from 30rh to 40-50 in a day and maintains it as long as it's on. Also, RR recommends you keep the room humidity between 30-50 (go in the middle and it's 40rh) so the perlite doesn't dry out too quick nor the cakes.
tl;dr: can't hurt!

Indeed he does.
I took a measure of the RH in my room, and it was just below 30--and this is when the heater isn't running. I think the extra boost will go nicely, maybe allowing me to mist less and run a fan 24/7 in my room.

When I asked a few people about the misting and humidifier, they said mist the same amount, make sure it evaporates by fanning well but keep a humidifier in there to keep the perlite moist and not cause the rH to drop so quickly.
Honestly, I would add it on as a bonus and not change anything just to be safe but if you feel everything is fine, go with your gut brother. It's about you, not me :-)

More pin pics!

A few of those cakes should be ready by the weekend. If you look closely at that big one, you can see a fair amount of bruising on the stem. I do not know what that is from, but I imagine it isn't much of an issue--correct me if I am wrong.

The amount of growth in under 14 hours caught me off guard...

The biggest one there, with it's veil breaking, are there any opinions on when it should be harvested? That was the very first pin to pop up, and it did so about a day before any others. I am going to harvest sometime tomorrow, but I am afraid that by the time the others are ready, that one will have gotten spores everywhere....

Right before the veil breaks or as it is about to.
Nice by the way! Very beautiful and looks so loved... Way to go on your first grow.
and twist and pull to remove the mushroom at it's base in case you didn't know

I have been giving them a lot of attention and love, even the mutants :]
It is a shame that the cakes wont be flushing in unison, that would be a site.

That's what I was going to do, but would it be advisable to harvest one early? The largest one is about the break its veil, even more so since the picture has been up.

They don't have to be picked all at once. Pick them as they're ready.

I woke up this morning with three cakes ready to harvest, here are the results:

There was one more friut, but I picked it last night and forgot to take a picture. It weighed about 12 grams
The total weight from the three cakes is about 90 wet grams. 4 more cakes will be ready by the end of the weekend, if not tomorrow. Should I dunk as soon after I harvest?

I like to see others like borrowing signs (hopefully mushin at the same time).

^^^ I borrowed it from someone who had borrowed it. I found it at someones house, sitting in their back yard unattended. It must have been outside for at least a year or so, because it was covered in dust and dirt. So the last time I was partying at this house--I WAS mushin' at the time-- I decided to put it to better use. So I brought it home with me ;]. It is a great sign.
OneU: Thank you for all of the positivity. I am glad that someone has been following my progress! Do you have any projects going on, I would love to see. I am also a big fan of watching grows.

I do, I'm growing GT's and in a few days EQ's and Chitwan-Nepal's but I don't take pics of them because I like to keep it in a certain ceremonial frame if I can. If I need to for like contamination's or something of that sort I will but I don't take pics of the jars or anything when I introduce the mushrooms :>
Have a great time!

Right on. A friend of mine actually suggested that I take an approach like that. From what he gathers, all plants and organisms absorb the energies we put into them during cultivation; if you put nothing but love and good energies into the plant, it will give them back to you or whom ever receives it.
Serious consideration has gone into making a shrine for my projects--I already give the mushrooms enough attention, but I think they would appreciate a bit more worshiping.

Haha yeah. I don't really make a shrine or anything for growing them I just put a lot of respect and awareness into them. I am constantly aware of them being in the same space as me because I incubate my room which they are growing in. I connect us with more than environment but yeah it isn't really not showing Love when you take pics I just keep them in a small circle. The Earth is aware of them, I am aware of them and no one else really. No one here knows my setup or sees it so it's like a more personal connection with the sacred medicine.
Perhaps just another illusion

What a bunch of superstitious nonsense. I intentionally mistreat my shrooms, talk down to them and treat the mycelium with little to no respect, and all of my friends that have tried it have had an awesome experience with them. All that, just to prove that all of the retarded dogma is bullshit.

You use the mushrooms for medicine or for some recreational trip? Did you read anywhere that I said this is a strict rule or a religious law I follow? Dogma is set forth by someone other than me. If you knew anything about bullshit, you would not be so silly and fill your own post with it. I don't want to in any way turn this into a debate because you yourself will one day realize this. I Love you and I wish for the best for you. Do not disrespect others because you choose not to expand your awareness beyond your material idealism.
