Trouble pinning PE

Rye grain to coir/verm/coffee uncased in trays in a monotub. Heavy rhizo but no pinning. Went into FC 02/26. Its now 03/08. No signs of knotting just heavy rhizo growth reaching upward and very fuzzy and the trays are producing ALOT of heat. Im fairly sure its not cobweb because its pure white. I mist and fan 3-6 times a day. First grow so im new to this. The strain is PE and from what i have been reading they can sometimes take a while to initiate pinning. About how long before I see pinning? Any suggestions or am I just suffering from Noobie impatience? This is the best pic my camera can provide.

basic clear tub with two vents stuffed with polyfill and a layer of saturated perlite on the bottom. Lights go on when i wake up and off when i go to sleep.

That does look to be crying out for AE.

How often do you fan out the stale air?

as often as I can but i would say average 5 times a day for about 10 seconds fanning with tray lid. I have seen monotubs with more holes in it than mine(2 about 2in dia stuffed polyfil) is this what inadequate FAE results in or looks like?

Basically, the look of your mycelia makes me think that it wants more fresh air.
Good luck,

Thank you for your input, I will try and put some more AE holes in my tub and see how it goes.

your fruiting chamber has no automated air flow whatsoever, mechanical or otherwise.
in monotubs the substrate creates a heatsource and humidity source.
this circulates air quite well on its own.
your tub on the other hand has a tray in it.
trays are small and don't provide as much heat as an entire tub bottom filled with substrate.
your perlite has no air flowing THROUGH it so it is not really contributing to the humidity either.
what you should do is this: drill 1/4" holes 2" apart on all six sides.
add 5" of dampened perlite
elevate the fc a few inches to allow airflow into the holes on the bottom

Ic Ic so the its in dire need of FAE. Is this the main cause of the "fuzzyness" just so i know for future reference. I know alot of these topics are trivial to most of you but i spend hours on here reading and only rarely find the exact answer to my issues. Thank you for your input.
I have about 8 MS PE jars almost done colonizing and i want to do a bulk monotub instead of the trays. This was just my first attempt and I wanted to see first hand the process. This first batch is for fun and experience. Thanks

Seeing as you have the fibonacci sequence in your signature, I suggest you listen to tools lateralis and count as you listen. If you havent found that out already

I will do that. I like Tool.
I have found that too much moisture can lead to small fruits, and that dryness can stall growth and kill pins, but stale air can kill a whole grow, usually by mold.
Good luck,
JD

You should also get some sort of timer, "on when you wake up and off when you sleep" doesn't sound like a very regular lighting schedule to me.

I drilled some holes to increase FAE and put a fan in room. It has knotted since and produced pins. Thank you for your help. I will post pics of the flush when ready.
BTW I already had perlite in the FC and I was wondering if this will be enough to adequately humidify through fruiting the way it is set up with trays. I have no measure of humidity and cant afford an instrument for it right now, but I do have an aquarium pump. Would it be advisable to incorporate it into FC or should it be fine with perlite alone? Im just worried about the fruits being damaged or stunted by low humidity.
I have also since switched to a true monotub and bulk substrate. Will update.
