Depending on how it was frozen and how fresh it was before it was frozen, I honestly cant say much bad about frozen crabs. The last place I worked at we'd get daybo crab, where it would be shipped to us and arrived nearly one day after it came off the boat.  Sure it was amazingly delicious but there is a certain novelty about getting fresh crab that really doesnt matter. Again it also depends on the crab, certain crab meat freezes better then others. Things like softshelled blue crab I wouldnt ever freeze just cause I like it fresh, stone crab I wouldnt buy frozen either just cause of personal reasons. I'm a huge fan of stone crab and blue crab so I know how you must feel. Being in the midwest its an afforded luxury to have worked at a place that would get things shipped overnight from the coast, so yeah I mean even if you can get frozen king crab, who cares enjoy it regardless. Asfar as cheapness goes, I've heard of places online that can send you stuff, but naturally you get raped with shipping, and unless you are buying alot there is really no point. Find a fish monger or something that may be able to help you out with such things.
