Quick question about fruiting chamber size

i searched and didnt find anything related
I have 18 PF style cakes, 9 of which just started the consolidation week and the other 9 are about a weekish behind. When i went to wal mart i got a little over zealous thinking how big of a container i would need, so i got a 96 quart rubbermaid container and it wasnt til i got home that i realized just how big it really is and how it possibly might have a hard time achieving and maintaining the proper humidity. So the question is will a SGFC of this size (96 qt.) be able to achieve and maintain a RH of 90ish% with a 5-6" layer of damp perlite?

Yep. If it doesn't just add more perlite/mist more.

It'll work great. Load in the cakes.

A side question to this...How soon before hand should i set up the FC to ensure the humidity is right by the time i introduce the cakes? I want to make sure that the conditions are optimal when i drop my cakes in

It takes weeks or months to dry out the perlite, so I do not think that you have to worry too much about timing.
...and the original question was appropriate. I have found that my SGFC does better when it is crammed with cakes because they help keep the humidity up.
So, it stands to reason that some small number of cakes in a very large SGFC will probably not be as steamy as they would be in a smaller FC.
Now, I agree with the other growers. I have one SGFC that is practically as large as your is....but I wanted to add this thought.
Take care,
JD
