if you like Osho and Tolle (who i do aswell) then you MUST read some Alan Watts, my personal favorite. ive read about 5 of his books out of around 20-25 that he's written and he never fails to amaze me. id suggest the book 'What Is Zen' and 'The Book". id start with 'What Is Zen' its an easier read, and you can get the feel of the writers amazing (often poetic like) writing style. check these out...

good video , he is right Prohibition will never work. and yes, a trip on a sunday instead of going to church would probably help many people trying to be spiritual.

He talks sense but no more so than plenty of Westerners. Why is there all this masturbation over Eastern gurus?

He talks slow to try to create a momentary pause in your thoughts, a place where you're just completely aware, and in this case waiting for his next word puts you there for a nanosecond. At least that was one explination he gave, I personally think its that and its just a really nice slow way of talking.
I've got this like 1200 page book by him im working on, so far its blown my mind a couple times. Seems to be a fairly frequent thing when this guys involved.

You really have to delve deeper into his philosophy to find out what makes him so fucking awesome. He's been a huge fucking favourite of mine forever.
Also, he's a great fucking speaker. If you really actually listen to him, it puts you into a trance. His pacinig is impecible. He's great at making people feel incredible concentration and compassion and love and wonder inside them.
EDIT: But the second half of the video is a prime example where I respectfully decide I like my viewpoint more than his.
smoke weed, nigga
EDIT 2: Just saw the post above mine now, and that's exactly it. It's a very important and powerful speaking technique. It open up your unconscious mind to suggestibility

You guys know he's never really even written a book?
Almost everything published under his name is his lectures transcribed. Try to wrap your mind around being mentally agile and masterful enough that you can dictate a book in one take, like dayyum.
That guy is true proof of the fact that we are amazing divine beings.

Terence McKenna could do that 5 times a week and speaking at a rate about 5 times faster.

Yeah but half of Mckenna's lectures are just stupid. As much as I do dig the guy, all the alien sex stuff is fucking weird. He needs to stop talking to much about his theories he got while fucked up and contribute to the science of it more. And he takes his own experience and labels it as THE experience. Thats very detrimental to everyone else's thinking
Osho hasnt said an irrelevant thing in his life

Great video.
He talks slow, but I love that in people, it a sign of a good and thoughtful person.
I have read quite a lot of Osho, I actually just bought my Mom a copy of Osho's book on creativity for her birthday yesterday.
From what I've read in his books, it seems like in one book he against drugs (psychedelics and cannabis) and in the other he sees them as a valuable tool. In one thing I read it seemed sort of like he thinks psychedelics may have some bad side effects that they don't really have.
But when it comes down to it he was pro psychedelics and cannabis and such an amazing human being.

In all I've read of him(meditation, creativity, bodymind, maybe a few others I cant remember) he seems to not be against drugs, but more in favor of psychedelics if you are going to do anything. But I think he still holds the view that you get higher in yourself than you do on drugs. A lot of older teachers think that way, Alan Watts, Ram Dass and Deepak Chopra* are perfect examples. I can see the value in that, and maybe one day I'll agree with them, but as it stands now I cannot ever see giving up the wonderful, beautiful psychedelic experience.
*theres a video on youtube of him at some conference or somethink and someone asked him what his first experience with spirituality was. I was blown away when he said, with a complete straight face and no hesitation mind you, "Oh when I was 17 I did LSD." Actually....:

OP damn that was an amazing video. such good metaphores and such a broad sprectrum of knowledge. never heard of that guy before but that was awesome, basically summed it all up perfectly.
when drugs are legalized, people with look back at these last 70 years and wonder wtf we were thinking. they will be awed by the numuber of arrests and years spent in prison for drug crimes, they will mourn at the 35,000 mexicans slaughtered in the last half decade and will be angered by the Governments lack of clarity and pure ignorance towards a more logical policy.

The government knows what they could do to make a more logical policy, the drug war makes them too much money to care.
