What bad thing could happen?  You seem like a pretty confident guy.  What could a women possibly do that could harm you?

'I' don't actually feel scared, but my body reacts with the symptoms

Unconscious anxiety as Becker points out.

Nothing at all i suppose other than possibly emotionally hurting me in some way, just with some girls my body reacts pretty strong like that, it will start shaking & sweating, although i should add it usually goes away soon after, i've never shaked for longer than minute, but it's certainly a time where my body reacts with what i'd call fearful symptoms. Maybe it just some energetic thing & not even fear  Its not like i think 'i am scared of this girl', my body just starts shaking/trembling inside.

Other than that i'd say a hefty dose of nnDMT, that can scare the living shit out of me

huhuh, funny, I get scared of women too, and I too sort of look forward to death, or rather, I look forward to the post-physical stage of life.

Seems you can look at women as sex objects and it will work and will be fun, but if you really look and see someone who would be part of your most profound dream, or see them as playing the perfect role in your desired reality, then they take on a whole other character...

I think I'm a bit afraid of just how much I'll love the shit out of a cute, smart, kind girl. Sometimes I think, if only these girls knew that I'd practically serve them - and I'm not the only guy like this! - as a slave to their love, and do anything (and I'm mad enough for it!) to keep what I think is the pure beauty and power of the feminine archetype safe and sound, they'd probably run screaming.

There was a girl on the train once (3 hour ride) who was younger and kept giving me kind glances and sort of covertly snuggling up to me. When we got off the train and I walked back to get something I left behind, our eyes met and I swear to God for a moment I saw/felt my ultimate state of mind, completely non-sexual devotion and pristine non-egoic expression of our inner selves. It confirmed my suspicion that there was more to women than friendship, lust and sex. The union of male and female is divine, when allowed to be so.

I think I saw her go past again on the train, looking out for me, the other week, while I was stopped at the railway lights.

Some of us just aim so much higher... and the dizzy heights give us the shakes

Almost every married guy in the middle of a nasty divorce with that "man hating bitch" was once saying how he'd be willing to do anything for her "love".

It's all chemicals man. Nature just won out over reason.  :rofl2: I made it through that maze with my mind and money intact. Most don't.

When I was little (5, 6, 7, 8) I had a recurring nightmare (maybe one a year) where I was in my childhood home and someone broke in, killing my entire family and leaving only me. It always ended with me sneaking out past the intruders into the night and then running away down the street, having no idea what I was going to do or where I was going to go.

I think it speaks to dependence on family for livelihood and as I outgrew that dependence, the dream stopped.

So maybe what scares me the most is being left with slim chances to survive yet survival instincts still trying hard to keep me going.

I don't know, it doesn't feel like chemicals. Like MDMA-love is chemical, it's awesome but you don't really feel it. Lust is chemicals and all these instincts going mad, for sure (I don't mean it in a bad way), but what I'm talking about I reckon transcends mere chemicals. It's like a dream state.

But if it's chemicals then I'll bow down and worship the chemicals as well as her. :inlove3:

We are chemical machines and the point of certain chemicals is procreation. (you're worshiping them alright)  This is why most men don't fall head over heals with other men even though they may have an even better emotional connection.

We're chemical machines, yeah, I mean, we're tripping on serotonin right now. If we take psilocybin or LSD, the brain uses it instead of serotonin and we trip on those chemicals instead.

But what does 'chemical' mean? Isn't it a kind of put down? Your impressions of chemicals is probably fuel at the gas station, oil, cleaning chemicals - all things that kind of revolt you. So you're applying those impressions to what's going on in your brain... good idea? I don't really think so.

What if we just described what's going on in the brain in terms of skittles? "Oh so that chemical is green skittle? Yum!" You see? We'd get a totally different picture. We might still discount love as transcendent, but now at least it tastes delicious. Totally different picture.

The language of science is all about saying the most using the least.

I guess this comes back to, what's more important? Subjective experience or 'objective' concepts? I think subjective experience is more important, but concepts are obviously important otherwise I'd have no idea what I've just typed. Seems the validity of subjective experience and trust of yourself go hand in hand.

I have this feeling that when the paradigm shifts, a lot of materialist scientists are going to feel quite rare. It will be clear they were virtually blind using concepts, as subjectivity is a much better picture of what's going on in this world.

Not at all; if anything it makes the whole experience of love more amazing when I realize how it's the interaction of thousands upon thousands of incredibly complicated chemicals.  If it helps, you can think of chemicals as a type of informational pattern: we are simply processes of information dancing with each other, and the rhythms of the dance are in a sense the music of the stars.

As far as subjective experience versus objective observation: I'd say they're equally important.
