Late Fruitings?
    #14075115 - 03/06/11 11:07 AM (12 years, 11 months ago)

I was just wondering if i went to the park i scored tons of cyans at you guys think they might be popping up again this late? We haven't had a solid freeze on the ground in awhile but rather low temps (30's) and alot of rain.

Think they may have a chance to fruit again?...if not now then maybe when it stops freezing? Like one last growth spurt. It'd be nice to go picking one last time before im officially stuck with growing cubensis all summer.

The reason i posted this is because i've been having repetitive dreams of "picking some more" and being surprised how they fruited again. Gotta listen to the dreams.

Im still gonna go check  just because i've been having dreams about picking "some more" and being surprised that i did in my dream...

If there aren't any pins or fruitings like my dreams predicted then i will take some spawn from my patches home with me in a dog shit baggie and try to cultivate mycelium on cardboard :vaped:

It never hurts to get out there and check, mushrooms can be found outside their normal seasons and ranges sometimes.

Either way you get some exercise and spend some time in the great outdoors, which is half the fun of hunting mushrooms for me.

Good luck!

Having lived through an existence close to nature, one accepts the small and simple things as most important in life. Sun, wind, rain and snow. The sounds birds make, smells of fresh wild flowers. Love of all kinds, from friends and family, thy self and our neighbors. Beautiful sunrises to the darkest clouds dancing above in the sky. To forgive, learn, share and express. This is the only thing a man such as myself can ask for. What comes as the result is nothing short of the core of human existence, to truly live free in body and mind.

This thread has been closed.

Reason:
5. Do not make threads or posts discussing or reporting the weather.
This includes complaining about the weather, asking if the current weather is "good for shrooms", or how long to wait after rain fall to go hunting.
As a general rule of thumb, if it has rained within the last 1-10 days, and the temperatures are correct for the type of mushroom you're looking for, and the time of year is correct then it is very likely that the mushroom you are looking for is growing.

6.  No asking when or where mushrooms, or a specific mushroom species will grow.
This includes, asking what habitat a mushroom[s] can be found- or their preferred fruiting conditions.  This can be very simply answered by using the "search posts" feature: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/search.php
