man, i am but a humble gardener with an affection towards cacti.
if they look pretty or unusual, i like and i buy.
they all look unusual. rarely are they pretty.
flowers on all cacti are beautiful.

wow jokey. that is the oldest trick in the chain store cacti book. Ive been peeling fake flowers off of cacti for years. Sometimes they damage the apical meristem with the hot glue.

Completely hate how they glue flowers on. Sometimes you can tell how the airbrushing accidentally gets on the cacti itself!

The ol' fake flower glued on top of the cactus trick.
I think your Mammillaria could be M. longimamma or something close to it.

i bought a mammillaria mathudae cristata and it had 2 flowers glued on.
i ripped them off because i totally hate those things. my wife saw it and was like "how pretty. it has flowers". i'm just like
i ripped them off and all the spines came off with them. see?

It is sad that people actually think these cheap straw flowers are the real thing is sad and it is too bad lots of cactus die still and never bloom.
