I personally opted to let my ex take our 2007 honda accord in favor of our 1999 vw passat wagon. Any car maker has lemons. You might buy a honda and have the worst car experience of your life. You might not.
As previously stated any car with proper maintainance and care can last upwards of 500,000 miles (most cars do not receive this care).
Dollar to mile I would guess that my 1996 altima is my most cost effective car by a long shot, followed by my 1998 tahoe. Our honda cost us about 25000 new, and was in the shop for a various reason or another almost monthly until it was 2 years old for almost every common repair known to man. I honostly do not miss that car, or my ex! haha

I'd give it all back to my grandpa (who raised me from 1yr old-12yrs old, and after a nasty civil-war type family dispute and my own coming-of-age I didn't see him much until I was 16yrs old) if I could see him again and ask him a few things.Even in the frail state that I saw him in Christmas Eve, I didn't think he wasn't going to make it through the night. A man who had cancers go into remission, and his heart operated on numerous times died because of his stubbornness; he refused to allowed doctors to keep a breathing mask on him which caused him to aspirate vomit (complications from gull stones). He consciously left this world Christmas morning.
I've never been able to remember a death affecting me. I remember when seeing death would make me ponder my own existence, but I was too young (4 years old) to remember his wife passing . . . but everyone around me said it made me shy, until I saw her at the funeral home and was able to put a letter with her, and apparently I was alright.
I have stacks of letters to Pete and I still feel the same way.
I was really upset during all of this, when my dumb bitch girlfriend failed to realize that I probably needed someone close during a very difficult time.
When she just recently admitted to me that she knew and just "couldn't motivate herself" to come down, I broke it off. Gotta love women. <3
So, 67 days after his death his estate was settle and I received a hefty portion of this. A vehicle is my number one priority as I feel like I am going stir crazy in my shitty apartment, doing freelance computer stuff.
But I could really use somebody with some Honda knowledge; if you could take the time to PM I have detailed questions about Honda's current K24A8/A4 I4 DOHC V-TEC engine and their J30A5 V6 SOHC V-TEC engine.
I've been away awhile from here, I'm gonna start posting again. Sorry about the vent, but my sister and my dad have kind of lost it after Christmas, and I haven't been able to do that without my dad talking about god, or my sister doing a bunch of reckless shit.
Have a good day, all. Appreciate the loved ones in your life.
Wow, I'm suprised that no one even mentioned anything besides the car topic. I'm going through a lot of pain right now too, including an ugly breakup (or something like that). I just wanted to let you know that I know how it feels to be boldly failed over and over again by people that you love. I'm sorry about your situation. I know it's not going to change much, but I just wanted to let you know that my heart goes out to you. Cause this shit sucks.

I've now started leaning towards a Neon. Some of them seem alright. Still haven't looked at the recalls on them. This search is a pain in my dick.

neons and the PT cruisers have a really poor design and weight distribution, I've heard several people talking about them swapping ends on wet roads, I personally dont like the way they drive

get a Subaru, the impreza has a great track record so far

I always thought, Hyundai's, Nissan's, and Kia's were shit
Kia is shit, Nissan is mostly shit but you can get lucky, hyundai has come a long way since they debuted in the US 25 or so years ago but even then they were not that bad for what you paid, they were pretty reliable, now they're more reliable and they're a shitload faster than you may think... at least read up on them and take a few for test drives and make sure the warranty is transferable just in case
I have to strongly disagree with pris ive driven most of the Hyundai cars at work and i have to say if you want reliability and power Nissan is by far the better of the three. But i do agree with you about the subaru that is by far the best choice if you have some snow to deal with so if i were you i would go with the subaru or a nissan

Now I am steering towards a VW Jetta TDI, or something fuel efficient. I'm so curious about the Honda Insight, as well, but I'm just too damned big for it.
