My friends workout problem (Help)

Yesterday I went on a date with this girl. We ran 3 miles. It was easy peasy. We hung out all night and it was great. We talked alot about fitness and she told me something that didnt sound healthy at all.
She is training for a half marathon so she runs and cycles alot. I took a look at her schedule and there wasnt a day when she didnt run at least 2 miles.
She tells me that she is seemingly consistantly sick and That she cant get better. when we ran yesterday her sickness was not noticable, she just said her chest hurt a little.
She is on a low carb diet with higher amounts of protein, vegetables and nuts. She told me her diet was under 2000 calories a day.
I can think of a couple reasons here...
Maybe she doesnt get enough rest for her body to recover? Maybe she isnt taking in enough calories or carbohydrates for energy? I am going to do some research on the internet to see what I can find. If anyone has any links or answers, please return a message.
I noticed something else too. She is a pretty girl but its obvious she wants to lose weight. She runs and runs and runs, but I dont think its working for her. Is this because she has so little calories in her day? She also told me she doesnt eat much, as in she does not eat that many meals a day. I believe that will slow your metabolism and cause you to hold weight. Am I right?

Eating small meals throughout the day wil speed up the metabolism. She should have a day of rest atleast once per week in my opinion. Make sure she portions her nuts as they are very calorie dense. Also if she tried interval training(sprinting/jogging) with higher intensity intervals on some days she should see more fat loss.

What is her BMI like? < 2000 cal per day sounds like very few for someone running 2+ miles a day. A person like that is probably burning calories at rest.
Sleep is pretty important, and so is stretching after a workout, maybe she can improve there?
If she's trying to lose weight, some people just can't for reasons they can't help like maybe her mom didn't eat very much during pregnancy, causing her body to hoard whatever fats it gets. Also being hungry will slow your metabolism like you said, I think due to the release of cortisol which can cause all kinds of other problems.

All in all, I don't know shit about shit, but I also run 2+ miles 4-5 times a week (when it's not this cold out) and these are things I've picked up.

She isn't eating enough carbohydrates and she needs more calories. A RUNNER should be eating MOSTLY carbs (65-70% of her diet should be carbs carbs carbs) any kind of fruit, whole grains, rice, vegetables don't have many carbs but they are good too.
Anyone who is running at least 2 miles daily needs to be eating at least 2500 calories if they want to see improvement... the more calories, the better. If I was on a running schedule I would be eating at least 3000 calories but I am a male

as long as she's not a professional athlete, i think there should be 1 day pause between workouts. the body needs to recover, obviously her body has trouble to fully recover and get healthy. she should definitely get some resting days into her schedule.

Well if she is a seasoned runner 2 miles is not much and can be done every day at a lighter pace, she will have hard runs too though, for 6-10 miles or however much she can do, half marathons are 13 miles so if she wants to do it, she needs to be able to do that much, but if she is running that much her calorie intake is way too low and she needs to rest after a long hard run... besides that I think she is good to go..

If shes super active and eating under 2000 shes just hurting herself. It's going to give her less energy to train everyday, and it's not going to help her lose weight. She shouldn't be combining, low carb, low calories, and high activity. I'm sure she would benefit way more by eating a normal amount of carbs, only eating at maintenance or no more than 500 below, keeping the same activity level.
I've tried the not eating shit and trying to lift and do cardio. It just doesn't work, after a few days of that I was so exhausted I couldn't even find the motivation to start my routines let alone finish them.

She is definitely over doing the Cardio and under eating. She needs more calories (fats and some carbs from fruit/tubers). Chronic cardio can stat breaking down your body and make you constantly sick. She should try adding in some weight training and eating more calorie dense foods (More good animal fats, etc).

He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest -- a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole nature in its beauty. Nobody is able to achieve this completely but striving for such achievement is, in itself, a part of the liberation and a foundation for inner security." Albert Einstein
