Mushrooms in my backyard, San Diego.
    #14078030 - 03/06/11 11:10 PM (7 years, 1 month ago)

So about a week ago my little brother spotted some brown/gold topped with white stem mushrooms. I told him not to touch them and went back inside. The next week I came back and I think my dad picked them and threw them away, I'm not sure if they were "magic" mushrooms, but they had really white stems and a brown/gold top. Is there any chance they will grow back in that spot? I'm a newbie to mushrooms and hope to hunt for some in my area, btw I am in southern california, San Diego.

They were probably Coprinellus micaceus and they will grow back in that spot.

They weren't as rounded as coprinellus micaceus and they were a lvery alight tint of gold, not as much as cms. Anyways do the mushrooms have the possibilty of making you trip? Also it's raining in San Diego right now, how long does it take shrooms to sprout after it rains?
