Making my cakes for the first time, going ok but I overlooked one thing.
Im about to put them in the Presure Cooker and I think I made too many jars and might have to stack them on top of each other. Is this ok??
Also after I filled my jars I forgot to wipe around the edge of the jar where the layer of Verm is gonna go. Will this cause a problem?
Please help

A quick search says that stacking jars in the pressure cooker seems to be okay!
And I edited my post because I'm still a new grower so I'm not sure about the edges issue

Thanks for the advice on the PC
For the wipe down, it needs to be done before you add the protevtive layer of verm. I just dont know how big a risk this is.

Better to wipe the edge, but don't fret over it. Ok to stack.

Yes,,,It is just fine to stack them,,,,Just be sure to cover the tops with foil.

Yes,,,This will be a major Issue,,,,One of the main reasons people fail the first time is this exact reason. It is imperative that you wipe the rim and the inner wall down before placing the verm layer. Like the above poster said,,,,Take out the verm and wipe it down,,,,I have even been guilty of this,,,However,,,When I did forget to wipe,,I threw the verm out wiped them down and then placed fresh verm on them.
I would definitely throw the old verm out,,,If you have any mix on it your chances of contamination run higher.
Hope this helps

well its too late to do anything about it now, but if i had to guess i would say it would only decrease your success rate by ~10%ish. My 2 cent details man, you cant forget details

Sigh.
So my pot is at a boil. I used two stacks of jar lids and tin foil to lift the jars off of the water and bottom of the pan.
So my pot is at a boil, i take a peak and i see the water spashing up slightly at the top of the cans. I wrapped the top with tin foil but I dont know how confidend I can be the steam and moisture still wont easily find its way into my jars.
I need to smoke a joint major bummer after 2 weeks of reading PF tek
Should I just cut my losses and try another batch of cakes tomorrow?

(generally speaking) i'm only wondering because it was my first time making a syringe and i wasn't extremely carefull

No problem ask all the questions you want as long as someone answeres mine
So guys, seriously how effective is a tinfoil wrap on top of the jars from stopping humidiity and water from getting in? I mean after 90 minutes in steam is it not impossible?
Is the tinfoil only there to minimize the issue?
On another note, im going to be growin Ecudorian have any of you tried it out? thanks boys

well if u have a tight lidon your pot, and turned ur temp down to a min boil, u dont need much water in there, so i wouldnt let the watter even come close to the tops. second, the foil and tape should keep most of it out, and u can prob tell once u take them out if water got in. Never tried ecudorian, but most cubes are about the same so they should be fine

you dont need tape, just put foil over the jar lids...bring to a boil but make sure the waters not high enough to boil up too high on the jars to get under the foil, ppl make things too complicated then they really are.

RR doesnt think that tape is too complicated, Just sayin... for 5 seconds of time i dont see what some issurance hurts? Besides, my lids always have condensation on them when i take the foil off, so im always thankful for the tape

Ok, so I should probably be fine.
I have foil wrapped around my lid tops and the water was only slightly splashing up before i lowered the heat (2 mins) Now the water is at a good level, hardly touching the bottom of the jars.
I really appreciate the advice guys, i have honestly been reading about this for two weeks but certain things only experiance can help you with.
It also helps to not have a wife around freaking out and asking questions when you have a needle on the table lol
