contaminated with algae or moss perhaps?

A european friend sent these pix of long dark green hair like strands in with mycelium. The green strands appeared at the top--WBS topped with verm, lid was tyvek with silicone injection port, metal ring, WBS was washed, soaked 24 hrs, drained. Jar was PC'd 90 minutes along with 2 others, all inoculated with a spore syringe of a sclerotia forming species. All 3 jars were injected with the same syringe and mycelium appeared about the same time. In this jar, the long green threads started near the top by the verm and spread rapidly at first. Original color was stated as brighter green. It started out spreading faster than the myc. My friend was unsure about tossing it. But the places where the myc met the green strands, it seemed to be able to halt the spread. No other signs of contamination. The jar seems fully colonized. This contamination didn't fit any pix or description of common contaminants. Would there be any reason not to consume any stones or fruits if they appear? Any idea what this might be?

I have no clue what those green strands are.
The mycelium looks like mold though. A good rule of thumb is mushroom mycelium is linear. It's not always rhizomorphic, but it's linear or cottony. What you have resembles a scouring pad used in the kitchen, and that's a sure sign of mold. RR
