I think humans must adapt and evolve or DIE.
It seems we are a part of an ass-backwards culture, that has conditioned us to consume. We excuse it by calling it "human nature" though it does not seem natural at all, when you look at the entirety of nature around us and can observe all systems working together in balance and harmony.
I wish we would collectively consciously choose to let go of status-quo, and adapt to the serious conditions we find our earth in and evolve.

I was referring to consumerism. Different from natural consumption...

There's really nothing unnatural about what we are doing. That's the problem really. We act out or natural programming and take as much as we can due to survival instincts meant to get us fat for the lean times.
No if we could find a way to be unnatural we'd have a hope of a better life.

We should spend money on taking care of our species rather than use it to seperate us.

But I don't see it happening until the need for humans to work decreases drastically.

Very true. I think that humanity is at a very peculiar place in time, and we have changed so rapidly we have yet to realize the huge impacts we are making on the earth. Not just environmental, but changes to humanity itself.
I don't know if evolve is the right word though, but adaptation is certainly needed. We just need a different viewpoint in positions of power, or different positions of power. Someone up there needs to have the best interest of earth in mind, from the perspective of the universe.

Saying "we should" is meaningless imo. It's what we do based on what we are that is reality.

Well nothing is unnatural but that doesn't mean it isn't stupid.
