Brown rice flower (can be made from brown rice) Water Vermiculite Peralite Tote(s) Jars 4oz to 6oz Medical tape Tinfoil Torch flame
1cup water 1cup brown rice flower (brf) 2 cups vermiculite
Mix water and vermiculite first Add brf mix well light n fluffy Fill jar ½ inch from the top Whip the ½ half inch very clean and dry with paper towel Fill the ½ inch with dry vermiculite loosely Put 4 holes in jar lid close to 4 sides Cover with medical tape Put lids rubber side up (this will make the lids easy to remove) Cover lids with tinfoil Put jars in pressure cooker (do not let jars sit in water) Fill water to bottom of tray the jars are sitting on Cook 90 minutes Part 2 After cooking
Make a clean environment Use a tote with 2 arm holes Wear gloves shoulder length Use flame on needles (red hot) Remove tinfoil Inject down the glass sides all 4 holes Replace foil Flame the needle between each jar Allow jars to sit at 75 to 81 degree For 3 weeks till fully colonized
Part 3 Use tote drill holes all over it top to bottom Add soaked peralite fill bottom of tote 4” to 5” deep Removing cakes from jars Dump out loose vermiculite Knock out cake rinse off under cool water Put in pot of cool water for 24 hours Uses a plate too keep them under water Rinse a second time Roll cake in dry vermiculite Place on Small Square of tinfoil on top of peralite Part 4 After dunk n roll Let cakes sit for 30 min Remove tote lid and mist dry vermiculite Mist vermiculite 3 to 4 more times over a few hours Should see growth in 4 days

Get widemouth half pint jars. Ace will have them. Room temp is fine. 75-81 is ok, but no hotter. Yes, drill holes all over all six sides, every two inches. 4 days is a bit optimistic for pins, more like 7-10.
If you have a surgical facemask and use gloves, in my opinion you're better off to shoot the jars in room air vs a glovebox. Quick, accurate motion assures sterility. Flame, shoot. Glovebox for anything involving open jars or handling spores outside of syringes.

If you dont have a PC go to walmart and you can get a nice little 8qt one for a little less than 40 dollars. I like mine and it makes things a lot easier. Good Luck

No. Also, you don't need to dunk your cakes in Evian water.

let them sit in the jars for another 7-10 days after full colonization. this helps the mycelium consolidate and get a better handle on the substrate. Also, it will prevent wispy fragile aerial myc from getting damaged, as it will be pressed firmly to the sides of the cake.

Oh and do they have to be kept in a dark place/ black tote because no one come to my place and i was thinking of just putting the "jars" in my kitchen on a shelf that stays about 70* is this a bad plan?

Always dunk your cakes.
I use spring water or tap water. Use spring water from a grocery store if you have crappy water quality in your area but you should be fine.
fully colonized cakes have immune systems of their own and will be fine in water for up to 48 hrs, tho 12-20 is preferable.
throw a hepa filter in the room with your FC and clean your FC with vinegar and alcohol between each grow and you should be fine as far as cleanliness for fruiting and dunking goes.
