It sounds like "SHERM" ...
Same thing I thought, before reading his post.
You should be able to figure out why a Shroomery platoon's clantag might be "PSYL" - those are the first four letters of something.

So, I finally got my game. Now, after installing origin and Battlefield and updating my drivers, I can't even seem to play it. I go to join serving or quick match or whatever and I am forever just logging in or loading the level.
Anyone have any suggestions?

does the BF3 program come up at all? Like is there a BF3 icon at the bottom of your screen? Click it. I don't know if that's the problem but I swear mine doesn't switch over to the game when I go to join a server, I need to click the icon to switch it over to the game myself.

Well, now out problem is that the game keeps freezing. The rest of my computer is fine but the game just freezes and I lose audio. Maybe I need to lower the graphics settings?

Because it sounds good, and it doesn't make people think of PCP.
Christ. I know that's not the literal spelling, it's just good phonetics. PSIL doesn't look as cool. Either would be better than SHERM, which sounds like nothing except a cig dipped in formaldehyde.

PSYL. maybe. 
I'm open for suggestions and ideas though. It should either be an abbreviation (so far we have SHRM: shroom [sherm if you like PCP] and PSYL [inaccurately psilocybin] ), or an acronym... like... Psychedelic Psychonauts Slicing Throats: PPST. I'm sure you guys have ideas. 
On another note, I thought that I should try to talk to my team mates with the nice new headset I got. I come to find out that there is no in-game VOIP for PC. WHAT THE HELL DICE!?! The little in browser party-chat doesn't cut it. I don't care if I don't know the random people I'm teamed with. I should be able to talk to them in this team-based game. 
Anyone know when/if they are going to add in VOIP.

From a practical standpoint, expecting 64-way voice chat is a little naive.
I still think there should have been an in-game implementation where you voice chat with your squad though. In either case Vent is better and requires less bandwidth anyway, so I would suggest doing what we do and just using Vent.

you can do team VOIP on xbox, and when 12 people are actually chatting it fucking sucks. a xbox live party filled with 8 people all lively and slightly drunk is even a lil absurd haha.

64-way voice chat   . Not realizing that a 64 player game is divided into two teams that would have separate channels is naive. Furthermore, I doubt more than a few of those 32 would be using a mic. If too many people were chatting, there would be an option to switch between squad and team chat just like on the consoles. It's a self-regulating system, not that many chatters: go to team chat -- a lot of chatters: go to squad chat. In-game VOIP would be very effective and it's a crime that Dice didn't include it.
Ventrillo... 
The voice quality of Vent is awful. I understand that many servers have their own Ventrillo servers as well. Is there anything that separates the chat between team A and B though? If not then it's rather broken.
