Understanding The Tree of Life

Sup Shroomery,
As of late I have become increasingly interested in The Kaballah. It seems Kabalistic knowledge is the easiest way to become a wizard, which would be really cool.
Anyways, through research and such it seems that a key concept to mastering Kabalisitc wisdom is by truely understanding and utilizing the philosophy that Sefirot system teaches. My question too you guys is this.... has anyone treaded down this path before? Does it bare any fruit? Is The Tree of Life/Sefirot system as hard to learn as it looks and should I even bother with it.
Ok, thanks guys

I studied with Chabad house for a while. Personally I think it's all a bunch of convoluted BS.

I think it's a worthwhile study.

To truly get something out of Kabbalah, it's not enough to just study the Tree of Life. You have to embody it. Of course, doing so requires requires that you first learn the system. Through study, you can learn to recognize the ten archetypes, and when you are out of balance, you will come to understand which energies you need to invoke to make the necessary shift. To truly ascend you need some learned master to guide you on the path of return. But even without this help, there is much to be gleaned by immersing oneself in this system.

I'm currently exploring it through tarot cards. it helps to meditate on the ten sephiroth as they exist in the four worlds.
I'm not sure I've had a conversation with my HGA, but I feel like I'm being led by the living word. it's hard to explain.

The Cabala is cool .
I use the images from tarot cards and Crowley's Book of Thoth. Haven't finished it yet though. It's going really slowly, because I'm taking my time to really understand it and I'm reading a bunch of other shit along the way. I like the map of my mind it has created so far.
The Cabala makes sense in an abstract symbolic way. I still don't think any of it can be proven, but IMO it has a lot more truth in it than it's non-esoteric counterpart (Judaism).

I'm working with Book of Thoth too. A.C.'s cards were visionary.
I think formation from the triple veil of nothingness is exactly what scientists are explaining through the big bang.

I've had a similar hunch from reflecting on a trip I had. I use my trips to help visualize the Cabala system. I think it helps, but I can never be sure if I am visualizing the same thing Crowley was. Or anyone else for that matter. Crowley was still a smart dude , although a bit weird. The image that was created by the media and people who didn't like him undermines the ingeniousness of his work IMO.

Psychology.
IMO this "stuff" is most connected to psychology and philosophy. I got into it before I went to university and believe it was one of the main reason I applied for psychology. I am also a fan of philosophy, but I get enough of that on the Shroomery. I'd rather also learn theories that have been proven or psychological philosophies that are more generally accepted. I can then compare it to the "stuff" I read. I think that also helps me visualize it. Psychology is the rationalistic counterpart of spirituality and mysticism IMO. By studying it I can have a balance between my rational and intuitive side. Otherwise I could end up living in a fantasy fairytale world .
Hope this helps you choose your path .

THIS BOOK IS A GEM! It is physically small, it is brilliant and illuminating (and I've read many of the Jewish scholarly classics by Gershom Scholem, as well as occult classics like Mathers, Dion Fortune, A.E. Waite, Papus and popular Jewish authors like Halevi, Drob [whom I corresponded with]). http://www.amazon.com/Elements-Qabalah-Will-Parfitt/dp/0760710791/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1299635891&sr=8-1

Kaballah is a very mystical side of Judaism. I visited Israel a couple years back and the town where Kaballah is said to have originated (Tzfat), and just being in the same presence of the followers of Kaballah is enough to see the depth in which they study it. They eat, breathe, and live Kaballah. Every Jewish text, or any religious text for that matter, can be analyzed to an incredibly deep level and the student can take away many meanings from them. Kaballah takes it in a different direction completely. It is finding mysticism in the Judaic texts and finding ways to integrate it into everyday life. In Israel (probably in the States too) there are houses of study, like the Chabad house blewmeanie mentioned, where you can find a spiritual leader who will be able to guide your thoughts and actions in the right direction. If this is something you're passionate about I'd strongly recommend it.

Thanks brother, I'll try it out.
This is all fairly new to me, my last spiritual phase was a crudely executed form of shamanism from ages 14-19, followed by total atheism, followed by this new strange quasi gnostic-Buddhist-mystery faith. I feel like I'm being directed by some trans dimensional intelligence...the living word, I guess.
Philip K. Dick called it VALIS.
