I'v been browsing these forums for a few years on and off and wanted to start off with medicinal / edibles. I recently purchased Lets Grow Mushrooms and have watched most of it so far, but the only places I could possibly grow would be my closet (small and probably not much FAE. I could POSSIBLY fit a SMALL martha (( in my closet)) but i'm not sure it would be able to keep the temp right, will the humidifier help with that, or would it just keep the enviroment moist?) the only other possibility is in the basement which is VERY dusty and has massive amounts of cobwebs / spiders and allergens. Any suggestions for what to start with as far as species? I'm wanting some Shiitake or Portabello, but if something is a lot easier / healthier than i'd be willing to try them. Any suggestions on how to fix my small grow area (closet) or bigger grow area, but rather dirty/ dusty (basement)

well to the trusted cultavators closets are voodoo, but i have improvisions that can make closets work suitably well, go the the laundry supplies section at wally, there you will find a 36 in. portable cloth closet its general dark blue and zips up and yes it is cloth not a plastic martha. you will set this up and insert it into your prexisting closet. now you have a closet in a closet, you put your grow which i recomend a sgfc in the closet and and zip it up, run a oscalating fan in the room with the regular closet door open. this with get fresh air to your grow and act as a first line cotam barrier the cloth resists air flow "static pressure" enough to not dry things out unless you air pumpin lots of air straight into your grow for which theres no reason.

I have FINALLY written up a couple teks as to how SHP has done things in the past. DISCLAIMER: This is not for the newbie to mycology, and not going to work for everyone! This is simply what works for one person when other teks and methods have failed miserably! ~~~~~How SHP does their unconventional WBS Prep!! i have a good idea for a small martha set up too, take a bed in a bad comforter zip up thingy make a rack or pvc frame to give it structure and you run a coolmist and thats it its badass but there is nothing more stealthy than a monotub imo

You can take care of a mono-tub in a pretty dirty place. While it's incubating you can keep it in a trash bag even in your haggard basement . When you are ready to fruit, your tub will be pretty resilient to takeover.
And as far as they are very stealthy.

by a small closet grow i'm looking at 1' by 1' or maybe 2' by 2'. I can easily have the sterile part handled, i'm not worried about stealth since it'll be edibles / medicinals. everytime i search monotubs it gives me links i dont really need :/ i'm gonna keep watching the rest of the videos when i have a day off since i'v got a fairly busy week ahead of me ( any suggestions on what to grow first as far as strains? i may start off with PF tek since it's "noob friendly" and then eventually work my way to up to grains and bulk.
