Anyone here know some good trippy and intelligent comics? I know the Invisibles is popular among heads, though I've yet to read it, and Testament looks pretty good. Transmetropolitan's a win, too.
Anyone care to name any more?

star wars, how it should be; gritty, dark and awesome. not literary accomplishments like the aforementioned, but great nonetheless.

this grew on me too.

oh, and transmetropolitan is one of my favorite series. if you haven't read this by ellis, read it before any of my other rec's. it's finished now so you shouldn't have trouble finding scans of the entire run if you know where to look.

and yes, anything by alan moore is good too. i loved promethea and top ten (need to catch up on tt season two).
hope that helps.

Grant Morrison is fuggin awsome never heard of Neil Gaiman but I'll be sure to check it out sometimes I wish I had more money to spend on comics but they tend to be pretty expensive and I've trying to resist the urge to download them
just realized this thread is 1 year old Doh!

I hate to sound like a broken record, but I have to say, anything Frank Miller pre 1990 is bad ass. I've got all the dare devils, Ronin, all the batmans he did, etc. But otherwise I couldn't list my comic collection. I've seriously got like over 2000. Still trying to collect more. Oh and of course Todd McFarlane the first 10 spawns are pretty sick, after that....... they start to suck... ish.... after 30 or 40 issues.
These are just my personal favourites. I've always tried to figure out why Amazing Spider Mans are the most expensive comic in history, while Spectacular Spider Man's not so much. but whatever, I've collected just about every Spider Man from the 1980s, so no big loss, hard to get em all of course.
