Have you ever had lung problems with marijuana?

I have been smoking nearly daily for 8 or so years and see no adverse effects when smoked just through a bowl. I used to live next to a 70 year old man who I smoked with who had been smoking practically daily for 50 years with only a problem of coughing when he hit the bong... It apparently increases the risk of bullous lung disease at a faster onset than tobacco, but I've never heard of anybody having that disease before. I was curious if you have ever had any problem after smoking weed for long periods of time.

I quit smoking about 6 months ago but i did have issues after daily use...the main one was a "wet lung'. i still wheeze at night and wake up having trouble breathing I think from the amount of pot i smoked.

I cant even really do bongs anymore or it feels like my lungs seize up.
Ive had my lung collapse twice though.
If i were ever to partake again itd be vaping, edibles or just a one hitter.

Yeah but i was never a habitual cigarette smoker. I only smoked them when I was piss drunk. Cigarettes were always take it or leave it for me.
Im convinced most of the problems came because of my bong and blunt use. Bongs and blunts left me especially choked up. Had I only been smoking bowls and joints I dont think I woulda had the problems but mainly from the time I was 15 till the time i was 22 i was a daily bong smoker.

I smoke marijuana pretty much daily, usually a few times a day. Out of a glass bowl maybe like 80% of the time, and maybe a blunt or three a week. Probably average about 1 gram a day, maybe a little more or less on certain days. Been smoking for about 11 years or so, mostly daily.
I cough pretty nasty stuff up almost daily in the morning. I don't smoke anything else other than marijuana so it's not from cigarettes or anything. A lot of times I have phlegm build-up in my chest and can feel it when I breathe. The only reasonable thing I can attribute it to is marijuana.
I will say that since I've been smoking I've been more prone to bronchitis. I get it once every two years or so and it's pretty miserable. I'm not sure if it's caused by the weed but I have a feeling it doesn't help. I also own an Arizer Extreme Q 2.0 vaporizer but don't use it that much because it's a pain in the ass compared to other methods of use. Maybe I should start using it more, but I think I love the act of smoking too much to only vaporize.

Your blunts are tobacco though right? And you are holding that in longer than you would a cigarette.. that could definitely be a cause for phlegm.

Quote:
1. Smoking damages your lungs' natural cleaning and repair system and traps cancer-causing chemicals in your lungs.
Smoking destroys the tiny hairs (cilia), which line the upper airways and protect against infection. Normally, there is a thin layer of mucous and thousands of these cilia lining the insides of your breathing tubes. The mucous traps the little bits of dirt and pollution you breathe in, and the cilia move together like a wave to push the dirt-filled mucous out of your lungs. Then you cough, swallow, or spit up the mucous, and the dirt is out of your lungs.
When your lungs' natural cleaning and repair system is damaged, germs, dirt and chemicals from cigarette smoke stay inside your lungs. This puts you at risk for chronic cough, chest infections, lung cancer and COPD. Learn more about what's in cigarettes.
2. Smoking permanently damages the alveoli (air sacs) in the lungs, making it hard to breathe.
The alveoli, little air sacs at the tips of your lungs, are built like tiny, stretchy balloons. As you breathe in, your alveoli help you absorb oxygen into your body, and as you breathe out, alveoli help get rid of the waste gas carbon dioxide. (Carbon dioxide is a harmful gas that's also found in car exhaust fumes.) Smoke damages you lungs so much that your alveoli become less stretchy. This means it's harder for your lungs to take in the oxygen you need and harder to get rid of carbon dioxide. When the alveoli are damaged like this, you can feel short of breath and tired. Your heart has to pump much harder to give your body the oxygen it needs. Over time, this damage can lead to COPD and heart disease.

True, but typically I will only smoke one or two a week and even then they are normally split between at least 3-4 people. I'll never smoke a blunt alone and I do most of my smoking late night by myself. I'm not saying they're good for me, but I don't think it's a reasonable assumption for me to think that small amount of tobacco based paper would have adverse effects larger than the amount of weed I smoke. In the end, I'd have to assume that roughly 7 grams of burnt marijuana into my lungs will have a worse outcome than one third of a blunt wrap.
Again though, that's just what I tell myself lol I have no way to back it up other than how I think my body is working.
