I'm only half way through but I'm so impressed with this video I'm putting it out there for discussion.
The Nature of Existence (2010) NR Roger Nygard travels to the sources of the world's major philosophies and talks to everyone from physicist Leonard Susskind to Ultimate Christian Wrestling founder Rob Adonis to answer the questions, Why are we here and what are we supposed to do? Spiritual leaders, scholars, scientists, artists, pizza chefs and the guy next door inform this humorously enlightening documentary about the nature and meaning of life. Genre: Faith & Spirituality Documentaries, Spiritual Mysteries, Social & Cultural Documentaries This movie is: Cerebral, Controversial

I plan on finding these answers out for myself via out-of-body experiences. Fuck dogma. Experience is believing.

I agree that all these answers can be found though your own experience, I feel mine is meditation. Dogma gets you nowhere closer to finding truth, just more illusion and bullshit.
But I think the movie looks interesting, always neat to see how many different paths of seekers have evolved.

The video Icelander is talking about features some short conversations with Darryl Anka -- Bashar.
Anyway, it really made me see him in a new light which I thought was .

Yeah those scenes were cool, might try watching some of his stuff now.
Overall pretty decent movie, watched it for free on imdb. Amazed at how many people have blind faith set in stone in what they believe, not really surprised though.

Now it's worth a look and you don't need personal experience.
How is this openmindedness?

Yeah, you basically said you weren't interested and personal experience was your only guide.
Then when one of your favorite boys was in it you seemed to change your position.
But this isn't the forum for this discussion. If you want to hear the rest of what I have to say on this you can PM me.

What makes you assume just because I like someones ideas I'm not seeing how they fit into my experience?

Watching this now -- some interesting stuff for sure. Did anyone have any aspects they wanted to discuss?
I found it pretty interesting how the only materialist perspective was from the west. There were no interviews with scientists from, say, India. Do you think that has to do with the human need for an explanation of some sort? And as Christianity holds less and less sway as a living explanation (hell, it's total garbage from a literal point of view), science needs to take the place for offering explanations? While in India the internal practices remain very strong and alive, thus no alternative explanation need be sought?
