Ok so I'm a little confused and aprehensive as to my culture fruiting in it's plate. Now I know its a sign of vitality, but it's also a sign that it wan't to end its life cycle.. what should or can I do? this is only the first transfer from the ms master plate, I don't want to loose my genetics.

You get to jump right to tissue cloning- move the sterile pin to a fresh plate.
-------------------- You make it all possible. Doesn't it feel good?

ya I already did that, I took the pin from the master plate and after carfuly cuting in half I moved it to two seperate plates. you can check out the pics in the mycelium on agar thread. this is my second generation plates or the P-1's. Plus correct me if i'm wrong, but can't you expand mycelium alot further if it hasn't fruited yet vs. mycelium that came from a clone seing how it has entered its sexual phase and is conciderably aged?

Whats the lowest temperature you should expose live mycelium to? Will it die if its below a certain temp?

I have several shiitake and oyster cultures that have been in the deep freezer for several years. They're still viable. Keep cubensis in the 34F to 36F range.
Petri dishes should never be stored upside down. RR

Just don't let it freeze and it will be ok. Sometimes even if it freezes you can bring it back from the dead.
But be careful! If it bites you, you may turn into a zombie
