My friend brewed some nice mimosa/rue tea this fine evening, but i unfortunately had a beer and a shot about 2 hours ago, minutes prior to learning the previously mentioned tea. How long should i wait before, or even if i should take some? Ive been told alcohol does not mix well, but i am strong of will and fit of body. Any advice?

Wait till it's your main priority.
-------------------- There are more people imprisoned for the commission of drug offenses in the United States - close to 500,000 - than are incarcerated in England, France, Germany, and Japan for all crimes combined. Examined in another way, the United States has 100,000 more people incarcerated for nonviolent drug offenses than all the countries of the European Union combined, despite the fact that the European Union has 100 million more citizens.

There has been a lot of studies that have questioned the legitimacy of the dieta restrictions, and people have under went ayahausca without following any of it. The dieta is more of a spiritual diet, and I can full heartedly recommend you take the diet, for it will enrich your experience, but it is not required. I can't remember the specifics on why the MAOI does not have such a deep impact on it, there's a few different types of MAOI's and the ones in Syrian rue/B. Caapi do not have much of an interaction with the foods/drinks that you are not supposed to consume.
But like I said, the diet is a spiritual diet, and will enrich your experience. I recommend you wait 2-3 days after your last drink, then drink it.

A shot and a beer? A shot and a beer wont even get me out of bed in the morning... are you like 90 pounds, 14 years old?
I dont think the small amount of alcohol will be a huge deal honestly

A shot and a beer wouldn't do shit to, I agree. I wouldn't want it in me if I was trying to go deep on some aya though. Just a personal thing maybe.

wait a couple hours and dose, alcohol plus harmalas are a recipe for projectile as in Exorcist vomiting.

checkout forums.ayahuasca.com for some good reads.. I too would hold off on it and maybe save it for another time. Or perhaps be a relaxed/sober participant for this round and see how the brew works on others.
All I know is that it sounds like a much better experience if you have set some time aside ahead of time and prepare for it a little bit so it doesn't kick your ass so badly

the problem with beer, wine (& other "fermented" foods) is the presence of tyrosine/tyramine... with strong MAOi this can accumulate in yr body & raise yr BP (anyhthing from a headache to a stroke!) this doesn't tend to happen with harmala-stuff, but _some folks_ have reported killer headaches, nausea bouts, etc... (of course GI upset is always a possibility with aya brews...) play safe...

So I didnt want to make a new thread for this, but I heard Passion Flower is an MAOI.. Would a cup or 3/6/20 be enough for aya or would it just be too weak?
