Invitro?

I recently got a couple spore prints and I need all the info I can get on Invitro methods, style, teks whatever you got. I been doing searches but wading through all the useless shit a search turns up is rather painful and time consuming, I would much rather do a mono but I aint got the time or freedom to do that this grow needs to be as low maintenance and stealth as possible.
So, What have ye?

if it needs to be that stealth why not get some sclerotia producers...sterilize your grain, shoot up leave for months..harvest stones that simple.

Derp, make a mini mono instead. That's about as low maintenance and stealth as you can get. It's basically a tray with a flipped lid on top (dub tubs I think).
Light is optional also, so don't worry about lighting. It'll be a better grow with light but they can fruit in the dark, they'll just pick random directions instead of straight up.

I think they use light for direction but could be wrong. It makes sense, if they're growing under a pile of leaves, once they get to bask in the sunshine (and know it) they've cleared the pile where they can successfully drop spores.

Light does play a major role in the size of the mushrooms. Mushrooms derive 'energy' from light, and bright high frequency light will grow larger mushrooms with more finish weight. Commercial mushroom farms have proved this fact beyond debate.
HPS has a very low color temperature and is not the best frequency of light to use. Most are around 2700 Kelvin, while mycelium pins and produces the largest mushrooms when given light at around 6500 Kelvin.
Light does not tell mushrooms which way to grow. They grow opposite gravity in the absence of light. Mushrooms turn towards light because they are benefiting from it.
Light is a pinning trigger, increases growth and vigor of mushrooms after pinning, and helps to coordinate the circadian rhythm when run in a normal day/night routine that includes warmer daytime and cooler night time temperatures.
The lights that are proved to work best are 'natural daylight' fluorescent in the 6500 Kelvin range. I'm running tests on LEDs and will report back the results once I've confirmed them though multiple grows.

Would also reccomend a mini mono. Store it in a cabinet or something. They are almost self sufficent, maybe the occasional misting and of course you would have to fan more being in a cabinet.

A mini mono? Links?
Would it require any fanning or misting? Sorry If I sound like a grow tard, its been a couple years since I grew and it was PF style.

And RR has been finding that his LED lights work great as well FYI

It's a mono tub...just in a smaller container. Check out any of the mono tub teks on the forums. If it looks like it is getting dry then it will need a misting. Add a casing layer and you can lessen the chances of this. If you stash it away somewhere like in a cabinet then it will require more fanning since there really won't be any air moving.

Very easy to hide. And takes care of itself (I usually only get to mist and fan one time each day).

There are holes on all four sides. I just put a big hole on top to mess around and see what it would do. But it got me a great pinset and its very low maintenance.

And these things can be hidden very easily.

What kind of spawn did you use for that? Those are making my mouth water How much weight you get from that single tub?

Used WBS to a 50/50 coir/verm mix.
As for the weight..... I kinda had a situation where I was keeping them (Got dumped the F*#k out). But im pretty damn sure it woulda ended very nice. I went away for about 4 days and it was fine while I was gone. Worked better then I thought it would.

Oh, I see the sgfc type holes in the sides, did you have those taped for colonization?

I totally use casing in my grows, but for a monotub, and just really cubensis in general, you dont NEED a casing.. In my case, i just do it like that, and it works.. but I have seen quite a few side-by-side's with cased and uncased, and alot of them will end up with the cased end MAYBE getting a couple of grams higher.. this is just what i have seen.. there are HELLA people on here that do monotubs uncased, and have fantastic results..

taping is nice, but kind of a pain in the ass, plus it gets all sticky and ugly when you peel it off.. a piece of foil or wax paper just lightly laid over the top of the substrate will make a nice micro-climate.. then, when you see pins, pull it off, and let it do its thing.. just dont stuff it down.. just lay it over the sub..
just a couple of ideas..

Wait, so you're saying that works for colonization? Would that work for a msg? I know Doc puts his msg in clean bags to maintain the climate and prevent contams.

well si..
BUT.... for the setup in the pic, I would pull off the top all together, and cover with foil, and poke a few holes..
the reason you can leave the lid on, though, and leave a piece of foil or wax paper over it during colonization, is because of the fact that those holes will not provide enough FAE without a fan running. So, lets say, you have that FC in a closet with NO moving air around it, there will be no flow to passively cause FAE, therefore it wont pin.. there will be no airflow over the top of the substrate, which will not induce pinning..
if im stoned and retarded and no making sense, feel free to correct me.. haha.. i have just seen some cats do that, and it works fine..

Yeah I take the top container off, put foil down, and put the regular lid back on the container till shes ready to go. That thing works for me greatly.

Approx 6 years ago...I observed...
Spores from PF were used to inoculate standard PF jars. The jars were stored in the dark until full colonization. At that point the jars were placed underneath a bed. (bed frame, approx 6 inches of vertical space) I'm not sure the time frame, but later I noticed pinning in vitro. The jars were left untouched. As the moisture and BR was being used up, the cakes began to shrink and the mushrooms began to form full fruits under glass.
There was room for the fruits because of the cake shrinkage. After the first flush, the dry verm was removed and the fruits (conformed to the shape of the jar) were picked. After 3 flushes the cakes were dunked in the jars for 18 hrs. There were two more decent flushes. All grown in vitro.
I've heard that the PF strain (Matais Romero I believe) pins well under glass.
Remember to take the tape off the holes. (Tape is really only for PC, not colonization. Thats what the dry verm is for.)
This was the only time I have observed this and it was so long ago that I cannot name any more specific factors. Good luck
