Game Key sites suck!

I personally don't do steam unless the game i bought requires it and even then i want a physical copy. Steam games can sometimes be worth it, like dirt cheap stuff, but then theres these other sites.
They don't even offer downloads, and theres a couple of them that i have seen. With a few exceptions (like everyone who is expensive) you don't really save any money.
whats the purpose of just purchasing a key for a game especially if you have to find the damn media elsewhere if you don't save any money? It's just taking it in the shorts for their benefit if you ask me.

Some people don't need a physical copy like me, Why waste resources when I'm just going to throw away the box and disc because I can just download the game anywhere off of steam and play without needing the disc.
I've never seen just the cd keys for sale without anyway of getting the game data.

Steam is more environmentally friendly. Plus, those clam-shell packaging is a bitch to open, I've sliced my hands because of the hard plastic or using a fuckin' knife to open that shit.
I don't care much for the environment, but I still do slightly

I have serious problems with DRM and the way it's enforced, but I think it's good that we're cutting down on the physical materials that come with games. When I was younger I had a real big thing about all the shiny boxes that I'd keep forever, and the instruction manuals and everything, but ultimately it all turns into garbage.

if you don't download them off steam where would you get them though?
i personally wonder if they just open a box anyway at these prices, i mean maybe they sell them back to the company and rekey them. i dunno, but their prices don't reflect the extra work of finding the media in these cases.
maybe a download plus a key isn't that bad, but these are kinda dumb.

My main problem with DRM is that if you don't have a fast Internet connection you usually have to wait for many hours to play your damn game while mandatory patches are installed, and if you don't have an Internet connection at all for whatever reason, you're proper fucked.
It really pisses me off. If I bought something, it's fucking mine, and I'll use it however I damn well please. That's why I hate Apple's corporate strategy. They treat you like you're renting their products after you BOUGHT them.
I think ideally software would come on flash drives that come with a key. You can use the flash drive for other stuff, and in the meantime if you lose the data that was on it (like if your hard drive gets wiped) you can use your key to download a new copy.

DRM is dumb it doesn't help piracy at all just makes the lives of people who buy the software worse.
