    #14064962 - 03/04/11 07:33 AM (12 years, 10 months ago)

Sink the Bismark is officially the strongest beer in the world, brewed in Scotland it had a higher alcohol content than Vodka. Although a beer its alcohol by volume content is 41%, and im gonna drink a bottle of it next week! Do you think that 1 bottle should blitz me for the night?? im sure gonna find out..

You can't brew anything over 23% ABV, so this either is distilled or has distilled alcohol added to it - so, not a real beer.

If you developed a strain of yeast that could ferment to 40% ABV, you'd be an instant multi millionaire.

This is true. Note btw that a stronger beer (60%) is available from a Dutch brewery, which also introduced a 45% beer about a year ago.

Cheap vodka... :puke:

It all makes me want to puke when it comes down to it

Any liquor in a plastic bottle though is asking for trouble

I like good beer and cheap wine. I like good wine too, cheap wine is just so much cheaper. Cheap beer on the other hand, no way. I can't even stand the regulars like budweiser and coors. Its gotta be in a glass bottle, preferably dank microbrew deliciousness

Cheap wine can be quite good. I rarely pay more than about $8 for a bottle of decent wine. There are lots of really crappy wines in that price region too, though.

Now you KNOW it ain't right. The Dutch are the chem kings of the food industry.  In our surrounding countries you'd be hard pressed to find a product as heavily processed.

Taking the crappiest possible raw materials and making extensive use of food additives to make it appear like it's something good is an art the Dutch master.

Uhm, we're talking about a small brewer in Almere here who responds with his strong beers in a cynical attempt to gain attention to the useless war of beers that's been going on the past few years. Not really an exponent of the supposed 3v1l food Illuminati. The production process of the 60% beer is nothing more than distillation of beer. As one of the few people here on the Shroomery, you are in the position to verify this information, as you can read Dutch. Nice going, sport.

(Reuters) - Dutch students have developed powdered alcohol which they say can be sold legally to minors.

The latest innovation in inebriation, called Booz2Go, is available in 20-gramme packets that cost 1-1.5 euros ($1.35-$2).

Top it up with water and you have a bubbly, lime-colored and -flavored drink with just 3 percent alcohol content.

Sam Adams Utopias, 27%, the highest ABV possible by brewing alone.

Did he dream about dragons? Did he dream about deer? Did he whisper  he names of friends who were near?
What songs did they play, and how far away? Why did he whisper, why did she scream?
What does the sound of a screen door mean?
Who talks on the hill? Who goes to the cellar, can you feel the chill? Where does the river, when will the wind?
How far are the mountains? Where do they end? Why would the church?
Did the service begin? Tell me who died, and tell me who cried.
Help me hide in the skin of a deer, my zippered-up bag in the mouth of a stag so swiftly I go through rows of does,
it flows, it flows, it flows, it flows all over the hill where the green grass grows.

Being a (formerly fat, recovering) American--and one native to New England, to boot-- I can verify this claim. (Sam Adams is Headquartered in Boston MA)

They made a huge deal about this beer when it was released, because of the fact that it was rated highest natural % in the world. Don't know if it still holds that spot, though.

I can't find anything specific, but I know I've seen videos where Jim talks about finding the right yeast for the job because in the early trials the alcohol kept killing it.

To get Tactical Nuclear Penguin and Sink the Bismark state side it'll cost about 250$  My co-workers put a pool together for two bottles.  I'm pretty sure they freeze distill the beer.

But people could also make beer schnapps by distilling beer then adding some beer back to the distillate for flavor.

Yes its bollocks that they add more alcohol to the mega beer.. this is how they make the alcohol in the beer stronger without adding more alcohol...

I'm definitely going to try and get some friends in on this if your reports are favorable.

I had a brew a couple weekends ago, I can't remember too much bout it, but the place limited you to 1, 10oz glass. Had real strong buzz after, it was like shots of beer, very tasty though. The words wheat, milk and stout are vague in my memory... had more drinking to go.

Also had a Redhook Eisbock 28 on a camping trip recently , which wasn't bad at all that. Made in a similar process, just not to that level.

If you have ever distilled, and opened the kettle after the goodies were distilled out, and the smell of hot depleted wash wafts in your face... You are feeling SO GOOD that you took that shit out.

If you take a fully fermented beer and distil the alcohol out you're left with a swill that almost makes you gag when you smell it.

Distilling Al Co'ol is one of the great achievements Arabic science contributed to the advance of mankind.

One 1/5 gal bottle of Everclear has all the power of a 6 gal keg of the 3% piss many Americans call beer.

2 bottles of everclear, bottle of lemonade syrup & a jug or two of fruit juice = portable party, just add water.

Assuming there's enough off flavors there to be concentrated, a buddy of mine had a shit ton of a beer he'd brewed and decided to get experimental. He had it stored outside during the coldest days of winter and removed a substantial amount of ice, he bumped a 9% beer up to 21%, it was actually still smooth as can be, really snuck up on me though.  It was a sour beer too (purposely sour, not infected  )  I was worried that the lactic acid in it would be concentrated too much but it wasn't overbearing at all.

Only in Scotland would you find the strongest beer in the world. I don't think any stores around here supply it. I think the only way you're going to get your hands on a bottle of this would be to order it from them directly.

I've got a feeling the beer would taste like shit but I sure bet it does the damage! :drunk:
