Ive been focused on that the past few days, I cut misting down to 3 times a day evenly spaced out. I fan 5-7 times a day and make sure all droplets are off of the cake a hour after spraying in the FC.

they dont look too wet to me in these pics, i would just stick to misting, then fanning for 30 seconds or so after each misting... I only fan when i mist, but that shouldn't cause any problems fanning few extra times a day.

I get fine verm from my garden nursery, dont think lowes sell fine grade.
a week and 3 days is not much time for pinning, depending on your strains genetics pinning could take more time. I would let it keep growing for a few more days. when spraying shotgun tubs like the one you have, I like spraying water along the walls (its messy tho) and it will keep your RH higher.
you will probably get a very small flush, then dunk and roll with fine
I use this kind f verm

I haven't looked too much into casing yet, but can I case with the bags of Rye berries after they are fully colonized. I was thinking about buying some pre sterilized ones from one of the sponsors.

I'd stick to PF tek. Technically they output more weight per substrate. Its a tried and tested method. Keep doing that until you are completely tired. Moving to different teks will just give you a huge headache.
not worth being a grump

this i disagree with, my first grow i did both, grain and pf tek, and found grains to be much easier and less hassle...its all user preferece if you feel comfortable going to grains then yes go ahead and do so...and you want to spawn your rye to either manure, or coir or straw, or a mixture of the 3 or 2 of them..etc...then you can case once fully colonized but its not needed for cubes..

its also a larger investment. I assumed the reason he wanted to buy pre-sterilized anything, would be for not having a PC and glove box + grains + equipment to prepare grains + substrate materials + Substrate pasteurizer.
it's a huge difference in my opinion

agree, it all depends on if the OP has the equiptment to start doing grains...i'd never buy a pr sterilized grain jar/bag when i can do it myself

I'm a noob as in terms of my "register" date.
But, when I used to do cakes.. I never used the lids to sit cakes on because I could be using those to colonize my jars. Make little bowls out of foil with super wet verm in bottom.. Put a little pile of verm on top of cake and get it really wet.. Ur cakes will fruit in no time!! Cheers!

Thanks I think I will make a little pile of moist verm for them to sit on, as long as it is moist and not soaking they will be fine right.
I hate how its always suggested to use verm but then some people claim verms sucks moisture out of cake.

I'm not sure about that method. It may help, but when I have puddles form on my substrates and I don't clean it up, pins will never form in that area period.

I am going to focus on misting less and fanning so I can see if I was misting too often preventing pins from forming.
I have a question though, the cake that has pins on it will it continue to flush, and if those three get big enough by sunday im gonna eat them.
I haven't eatin mushies that much and whenever I did I always ate very little. One time I ate .5 and had alot of fun. So if they are over a 1g dry Im guessing 10g wet im gonna munch on them sunday.
After I pick them and if no more pins form on the other 3 should I dunk them for 12hrs?
