Spores germinating in non-nutritive spore water.
    #14063462 - 03/03/11 10:17 PM (13 years, 2 days ago)

I read something about this just the other day,and I can't remember exactly what it said or where I read it. I have had these spores for months now. Made a bunch of syringes and this was the left over I haven't had a need for yet. They germinated at least a month ago maybe longer.

Question is since it has been so long can I still suck that out and put in into some grain or on some agar. From my reading I can't remember if it said in order to keep this viable it needed to be transferred to something nutritive right away, or that it just would not grow until transferred. I know it's not going to grow without nutrients. Would grow if I were to transfer it now? Can see it's very dark. It has slowly been collecting all the other spores in the jar.

the spores don't look to have germinated... they are just clumped. a good shake will solve that... BUT, you have a shitty white balance in the pic or some bacterial contam, if I'm not mistaken.

I have syringes that have spore germination.  You will see LC like flakes around the spore clumps.

non-nutritive is relative
