DMT vs. Ayahuasca

I know Ayahuasca is DMT as well but I am asking what is the difference between a trip off freebase powder DMT, and the Ayahuasca tea? Has anyone tried both of these? What is the difference in terms of duration, effects, etc.?
Thanks

DMT freebase duration: less than 15 minutes. Ayahuasca duration: Around 6 hours
I'm not gonna try to explain the effects in detail cuz it's too complicated to describe it enough to gie you a good idea. But freebase is always a mind boggling, cosmic type experience for me.In higher doses Ayahuasca has always had some ancient wise feel to it, with jungle theme visuals for me. Again, hard to describe.

I've been really interested in ayahuasca since watching documentaries on it and hearing about the healing aspects it carries.

Yeah, I was wondering.
I read Ayahuasca heals your overloaded neurons. Overloads can occur from not handling an experience correctly, eg trauma. The neurons fire when a similar experience occurs.
Those neurons are connected to your eyes, and Ayahuasca triggers those neurons, and is represented in your visions.
I also read out of all psychedelics Ayahuasca is the only one to actually heal/protect your brain, rather than any cells dying.
Shamans believe the real healing comes from the Caapi, in the beta-carbolines. This is true, as you can take just Caapi alone (experiencing the healing effects), while growing closer to the spirit of the vine, and at the same time better preparing yourself for Ayahuasca with admixtures.

I always read how ayahuasca is such a poweful healer when it comes to addictions, ailments and repressed issues. I've read numerous trip reports on people hooked on hard drugs not touching the shit ever again after an aya experience. There have been many reports saying it heals cancer and all sorts of other problems.
Really fascinating.

It's VERY easy to brew your own. All you need is an MAOI (Syrian Rue or traditionally B. Caapi) and a DMT source (Mimosa Hostilis Root Bark or others) and you're set. Both are easily available online.
What frylock91 said is on point. Smoked DMT always has a cosmic "communing with the Source", returning to God consciousness in extradimensional hyperspace aspect to it, though it is both fleeting and eternal.
Ayahuasca is DMT in a motherly form so to speak. It is more of a healing, ancient teacher in the Ayahuasca form.

Thanks for the help
Sorry I am also a culinary noob though...how do I make the tea? I have the ingredients down but what do I do? Throw a shitload of leaves into a pot and boil the water?

What ingredients are you using specifically? It is recommended that you use lemon juice to acidify the water then boil the MAOI and the DMT-containing plant separately. Then you ingest the MAOI brew, wait for 30 minutes (or however long it takes for you to feel some effects from it) to allow it to run its course then ingest the DMT concoction. In this way more of the DMT is made active by the MAOI. 3-5g of syrian rue and 10g of mimosa are general doses, though I cannot comment on other forms as it is the only analogue I have done.

Sorry for all the questions.
But how long should I boil it?
Also isn't there a certain list of foods you shouldn't eat for a certain period of time after taking a MAOI inhibitor?

And how do you know when the MAOI inhibitor is beginning to take effect? What should it feel like?

Sedation, change in thought patterns. Mild psychedelia if dosed high enough.

The most you'll feel is a tingly feeling, like you'd taken a Benadryl or something as the dose for Syrian Rue/MAOI's are fairly low (3-5g are enough to make the DMT active). Generally 30 minutes is the perfect waiting time so don't worry if you don't feel any effect from the MAOI.
No need for apologizing, I am more than happy to help a fellow Dreamer who wishes to Dream with Aya. As for the list of foods google "Ayahuasca Dieta" which details not only a list of foods to avoid, but other activities as well to purify ones self.
I am heading to sleep now so PM me any further questions if you wish.

All you feel is tingling? That's weird. Rue in itself gets me a certain high. I definitely always feel more than tingling.

I honestly don't really remember what effect the Rue gave me. How would you describe the high from it and in what dosage? I'm curious as to its individual recreational usage.

I usually take around 5 grams..I know that's not necessary though I just do it for preference reasons. But I get a decent amount of sedation, and very slight visual distortions with weird thought patterns. It's definitely not something I'd choose over most other highs, but I can see it being something some people might enjoy.

Ive smoked freebase DMT and have been very interested in the brew.
You say it lasts for six hours, are those six hours spent laying down or are you able to function on them?

All depends on the dose of course. I've seen people just lay there in awe before for the whole duration. But normally I can move around fairly easily.
