Hey there gurus of the shrooms? I?m an avid hunter from Canberra, Australia. Our shroom season is about to begin and I'm wondering whether ther are any other trippers near Canberra who are going to embark on expeditions to the Brindabellas to obtain the flesh of the gods?

were those picked in canberra MagicRooms?
I've had a few quick looks through a cow paddock or two - any hints on what sorta terrain I should be looking for? I've only had experience with woodlovers so far,
thanks

Didn't think it got humid enough in ACT to get dung species... I think those Panaeolus are NSW. turk you should look for cows, rain and humidity for dung loving species. I would hazard a guess that it is much too cold in canberra for them now.. but It is always worth a look.. I mean hey cubensis was found in tassie

If its an aussie Stropharia it aint a common one. Those reddish capped Stropharia with yellowish stems are usually the norm - have similar gills and cap shape though.

Hey guys, any chance it's too early for shroom season? I've taken a walk around the local cow paddocks but a little hesitant to jump fences and take a good look. Been getting some good rain and it's pretty humid but I don't wanna piss off any local farmers. Is it good hunting in the Majura pine forest at all? I've read pine trees make good shroom grounds... is that correct?

Why on earth did you bump a thread this old?
Asking about specific locations is a no-no, as is asking if it's the proper season. If you want to find mushrooms, figure out what species you want to look for, find out the substrate it fruits on and the conditions it fruits under, and go out and explore areas that have the right substrate during a time when the weather conditions have been right to produce fruits.
