A few noob questions regarding sclerotia

Hi, I'm new here. First, I've been doing some research on this forum and lurking around for about a week, and I'd like to thank you guys for all of the excellent info so far.
Let me start by saying I've never experienced mushrooms before, but I've heard so many good things about them. I've looked into getting some, but they are very unavailable in my circle of friends.
I want to start my first batch of mushrooms ever soon. I have friends that are in the military that come over to my place on the weekends and drink with me, and my main concern is that they don't find out about it.
From what I've read, my best bet for growing something "stealthy" is to go with P. Mexicana A and only go for the sclerotia, so that I can keep the jars in a box in the corner of my closet. Will this have any effect on the growth?
My second concern is, if I grow only sclerotia, will I be cheating myself out of the full experience, or are they still a good representation of a classic cubie?
And my final question: Are there any other species that would be good for a beginner that can be covertly grown restricted to basically a closet?
Thanks

I find the sclerotia trip to be different than regular cubes, but I like it more. I thought it was kinda like mushrooms on speed - great body rush, giddiness, and amazing OEVs and CEVs. Was vaguely reminiscent of an acid trip.
I think your jars will be fine in a box in your closet. I know you probably want them right away, but if you let them sit for a long time they get super potent. I let mine sit for about 4 or 5 months after full colonization and they were hella good.

Yea, I wish I could grow them as fast as the other options, but I'm willing to wait if it's what I have to do Thanks for the input
Also, the only P. Mexicana A that I could find online was a 20ml syringe for $28...Is there a better option? This seemed much more expensive than the other species I'd seen. Is making my own syringes a big no no for someone without first hand experience?

You don't have to wait, a lot of people harvest them as soon as they're ready. I'd say go on and make a spore syringe yourself, it's pretty easy. I'd recommend doing it in a glove box. If you don't have one of those they're pretty easy to make too. I made mine with a $4.00 rubbermaid and some tyvek sleeves that I made for free.
